I'm a crazy Welsh goth girl born and bred down in Caaardiff. I am a research scientist and am currently doing a PhD for my sins...so I'm a crazy goth scientist during the day :) However, for all my science background, I am the ditziest girl ever and have no common sense. I once asked my mum if "do not take with paracetamol-containing products" on the back of my lemsip meant I couldn't take paracetamol tablets...
My geography is also appalling, I thought my mate from Guernsey was near Italy and couldn't understand why he didn't have an accent, and I also thought Blackpool was in the south despite visiting the place nearly ever year to see family!!
Music...
I absolutely LOVE music, goth rock and heavy metal being my favourite, much to the delight of my oh-so-quiet neighbours I'm sure!! Cardiff has quite a disappointing alternative club scene, but every other Saturday there is a fantastic rock / metal night which takes place in a old converted church in Cardiff Bay called The Point. Sometimes I'll venture down to Metros in town - it used to be a dirrrrty rock club but its gone a bit more mainstream now :( It still smells in there though and they still give out free toast at the end of the night so I'm in! Clwb Ifor Bach is another good night out in town...and hearing English people trying to pronounce its name is always amusing. You can tell where someone is from by whether they call it 'Clwb Ifor Bach' or 'The Welsh Club'!! :)
Coffin Girl?
I absolutely love the picture of 'Coffin Girl' above - a mate sent it to me after I was asked (completely seriously) "So...do you sleep in a coffin at home then?" The lovely lady was genuinely interested and honestly thought that all goths did this! So I am now Coffin Girl :)
Home Life...
I have been with my lovely blokey Simon for 7 years now (childhood sweethearts, awww) and we bought our first house together last year. We now have two additions to our little family in the form of our booootiful cats Meg (named after a 'Little Women' character) and Darcey (named after the ballerina Darcey Bussell). They keep the house lively!! :)
My boyfriend is very different to me - he's a sporty freak (plays rugby, cricket, skittles, and the odd footie game) whereas I'm a more lay-at-home kinda girl. He also has totally different music tastes to me - he hates my metal music and much prefers cheesy pop songs *giggles* He's a good lad though and comes to my metal night with me quite regularly - he says he doesn't like it but he's been known to sing along to quite a few songs and even dance a little! :)

The best place in Cardiff for music has to be the fabulous rock night
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp
which takes place in an old converted church nonetheless!! It's a fantastic night organised by a very nice man indeed *waves* ;)

Movies:

I adore movies, I've got some cheapo Tesco online DVD rental thingummy now so get to watch loads of films. I can't stand chick flicks with their unrealistic happy endings (god turn the slush off) and much prefer lots of death and gore. Some of my favourite films are:
Silence of the Lambs - there is something sooo sexy about that cannibal freak

Moulin Rouge (it's girly but there's still death in it!!)

Pirates of the Carribean ...just for Johnny Depps gorgeous gothic look
A.I. - just cause I love the teddy! Con Air - my boyfriend loves this film so I've seen it like a thousand times
Identity - I love films with a twist, although I never see them coming :)
Phantom of the Opera
I also love every Disney film ever made - apart from Alice In Wonderland, that film is freeeeaky!! I had to watch it a few months back while I was babysitting a five year old...and I was hiding behind the baby!
Saw I and II WOW! These films are amazing. I am slightly behind times as I have only just seen these films recently but they are wicked!

Books:

I love reading...yup I'm a geek underneath all this black :) Horror books are my fave, anything by Stephen King and I'm hooked. I'm also a big fan of so-called kids books like the Harry Potter books...although not so fussed on the films. I also love The Chronicles of Narnia series.
