Pie is originally from the 7 piece hip-hop band COUSINS OF THE WIZE and underground hip-hop collective HYDRAFONIK KREW (BUS PASS PROPHETS). The new album UNDERCOVERS was designed to capture music's main stream audience yet staying rooted in underground hip-hop. The new album combines the ground pounding beats of Jah Sonora (Brothers Grimm, Catch Wreck), the picture painting hooks and rhymes of Pie, and the production savvy of Larry Elyea (Bionic Jive, 8-Mile Soundtrack).
Magnum P.I.e is the moniker Pie has given himself for the new album "Undercovers". The record is a sure fire hit at any party, backyard barbeque, or club dance floor. The record tackles such socially conscious topics as dive bar drinking, the vices of Vegas, and strip club etiquette. If I was going to make a party record, I was going to work in every temptation known to man and women kind. This album wasnt recorded in order to make you ponder life. It was created so when you want to let loose, turn your mind off, and sinfully indulge you can do so.
The album features thirteen songs including the singles Red Light District, Sin City, and Unruly. The songs vary between crossover and underground hip-hop. The release date July 21st 2004 with guests including Ras 13 and Vargas of Golden Tung, and valley rapper Scotty Scuffles. Magnum Pie has toured with the likes of: RUN DMC, Incubus, Pharcyde, Bombshelter DJs, Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Fishbone, The Roots, De La Soul, and various Lollapalooza tour dates.
Cousins Of The Wize is now playing under the name C.O.T.W after the passing of one of their members and leaders CPT (Cool Poetry Talker) Chris Pangrazi. We play the music and every show in Chris's honor. We love you 4 ever CPT.
