CONGRATULATIONS TO SOLENA--SHE GAVE BIRTH TO A BAY COLT, NICASIO, ON JUNE 28TH!!! SEE PHOTO...Our Nebraska horse operation "Prairie Sky Horse Ranch" opened last November. It's west of Plymouth and is co-owned by my husband, John, and son, Brett.We have about 30 horses at Prairie Sky now--mostly young mares. There are a variety of colors including black, bay, sorrel, chestnut, palomino, cremello, blue roan, buckskin, dun and red dun.Our black appendix QH mare gave birth to a dark palomino Skipper W bred colt on April 19th. We call him Cesare or Chase for short.We expect one more foal in addition to Cesare & Nicasio. Both Nicasio & the expected foal were sired by sons of the great bay stallion, Reminic. One mare is a sorrel granddaughter of Bill the Cutter. Nicasio's dam is a buckskin Doc Olena-bred mare.Some of our horses came from out of state (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri and Oklahoma). Others from ranches in western and northern Nebraska.Crossed Sparks (Chance)is the palomino grandson of Shining Spark. Chance just arrived in Nebraska to begin training with Sherm Tegtmeier as a reiner. Chisums Mega Jac (Cooper) is the dun grandson of Martha's Mega Jac and is in training for working cow-horse in southern Oklahoma.We also have two other stallions at Prairie Sky. Chief is a black Hancock-bred stud. Charlie is the sorrel grandson of Peppy San Badger on both his sire and dam's sides.We plan to continue raising Yorkshire Terriers and will offer puppies as they come available. Later we'll be breeding French Bulldogs from champion bloodlines.Ya'll come out & visit us sometime, ya' hear?!
