About Me

I never know what to say in these little bio sections. Everyone always ends up sounding kinda fake or pretentious. I'd like to think I'm a pretty low-key, down-to-earth cat. I'm not much of a social butterfly, but I love meeting new people. Just here trying to find my niche in the world.

My Interests

Art history, museums of any kind, art of most types, folk art, local art, ancient art, modern art, post modern art, post postmodern art, it's all good. I love learning how to make things and I love creating. Anything from silly crafts to formal work.Sewing, carving, building, painting, etching, it's all good. I love my dog, Zoe, and dogs in general...animals in general. I'm beginning a small zoo with all of the pets I've acquired and I've got a bad habit of picking up strays and other injured animals. I love a good cup of coffee and a good seat in the back of a cafe where I can just sit and watch the world go by.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone and everyone. Variety is the spice of life?

Music:

Very varied. Classic rock, oldies, soul, folk, blues, bluegrass, jazz, ragtime, classical, good stuff. I suppose if I were to list some bands/musicians in particular they would be: Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, David Bowie,Bill Monroe, Mary Lou Williams, Bob Dylan, The Decemberists, Johnny Cash, The Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Young, Modest Mouse, Radiohead...there is little rhyme or reason in this spastic, bipolar list...it's just good stuff.

Movies:

I have a hard time sitting down long enough to watch an entire movie...but some of the ones that have peaked my interest are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original...but the new one wasn't terrible), anything by Mel Brooks, Zombie movies, The Labyrinth, The Quiet Man, and I've been watching a lot of silent films..the ones they show on TCM late at night, they're pretty interesting, I'll probably expand this list once I have a TV...and access to a Blockbuster.

Television:

I don't watch too much tv, but I always make time for M.A.S.H and any of the Law and Order franchises...although I have to be in a certain mood for SVU ( a violent rapist mood?...yeah)

Books:

I'm not big on stories...novels, short stories whatever... I'm usually not very interested in the lives of people that don't exsist. That sounds terribly ignorant of me, but it's the truth. I'd rather read a history book or a book about human behavior...or dog behavior for that matter.

Heroes:

I can't say that I have any, or have ever had any. There are people that I think are interesting or novel, but I can't say that there is one people that I model my life after or look up to.
