I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm not that interesting. My myspace page is default. I have a regular job, listen to music, have hobbies and interests, travel, etc. I love my family and friends. I want to buy a house so I can have backyard BBQs all summer long, host Thanksgiving and Xmas, and invite out of town friends to stay with me. I like being outside but not being sweaty. I like the energy of being around other people. I'm generally happy and easy-going but we all have our dark days. So yes, I am moody a lot but then I just crawl under my blankets and mope quietly. I have been social on the internet for 10+ years and I still don't really know what to make of it. I have a few virtual friends that became real friends but way too many times I have been disappointed to find someone who represented themselves very differently than what they truly were. Not physically but everything else. That being said, I HATE liars.

My Interests

"Assumption is the mother of all f**kers." - Merle (I can't remember his last name but he was an instructor in the film department at UCLA. Whenever I get myself into trouble I always remember him and that little bit of advice he gave me on the first day of class.)

I'd like to meet:

People who's birthday is the same day as mine. I've always gotten along with people who have the same birthday.

Music:

I follow The Shins. I dig Weezer, The Cars, Arcade Fire, Death Cab, Bright Eyes, Jack Johnson (or John Jackson when I'm not thinking), Cyndi Lauper, Postal Service, Cake, My Morning Jacket, Green Day, Pat Benatar, Fruit Bats, The Stills, Pinback, Built to Spill...something like that.

Movies:

Yes. Just when I think I've grown out of the sci-fi/horror stuff, it pulls me back in. I'm a nerd...yep.

Television:

Sometimes.

Books:

I'm trying to read "How To Be An Adult In Relationships." Hah!

Heroes:

He is the man who will fight for my honor, he'll be the hero I've been dreaming of. We'll live forever, knowing together that we did it all for the Glory of Love.

My Blog

My goodness...

It seems pretty impossible to me that it's 2007.  Why does it seem like time passes so much more quickly as you get older?  When I'm 50 will a year feel like a week did when I was 10?  ...

Slower

It started out so innocently, yes? Sort of. Passionate, yes. Lots of room for miscommunication. Lots of room for excuses. Lots of room for forgiveness. Lots of room for sad songs. Lots of room ...

Pride

So I check my email the other morning and I get a birthday alert for my dog that died a year and a half ago.  A birthday alert for a dog?  Lame...but I've done lamer.  It's sort of stup...

Perspective

I chatted with a friend earlier and he started telling me about this "psycho" chick that he dated awhile back.  I was curious so I asked for details and what is was that made her crazy in his boo...

Sleep

I just had a marathon sleep session...and I feel like I could crawl back in bed and sleep for another 12 hours.  Sleep should be rejuvenating but I still feel groggy and weak.  There were a ...

Not that interesting

So it's been awhile since I've spent any significant amount of time on myspace.  Usually it's to see what random person has requested to be my friend.  I don't really know what posessed me t...

The fall.

Ugh...today has been one of those days.  I think I've spent the whole work day mucking about on internet instead of getting real work done.  I feel incredibly awful and unproductive.  K...

Girl Crushes

Jean was talking about this article she read on girl crushes.  It had to do with the psychology behind the fascination women have for other women.  It's not necessarily a homosexual ten...

The boys are work are so funny...

They keep sending me stuff to try to teach me to  be a better woman...   The following is an excerpt from the July 1943 issue of Transportation Magazine.  This was serious and written f...

Chinese food, sake bombs, my high school sweetheart and learning to take cabs.

My 10-day birthday celebration is finally over and I think I'm starting to feel the gluttony and grogginess leach out of my system.  It all started out on a Friday night with the long trek to Ve...
