The Reality Is GOD

About Me

"So the dramatist, the blues writer in us, seizes upon the knife as both embodying and witnessing the interchange, subtly changing its purpose through the course of the drama. The knife becomes, in effect, congruent to the bass line in music. For the bass line, not the melody, gives music strength, and moves us. The treble may be pretty, but it is, finally, arbitrary unless coupled with the driving inevitability, the drive-to-resolution, that is the bass. The inevitability, the revelation of the deep meaning of the ordinary (the ordinary being the treble), gives Bach’s music its power. The fugues, the toccatas, the greatest of all Western music are affecting as the bass line is affecting."
-David Mamet
Brandon "Bassie Blue" Hamilton has been in music practically from birth. He started singing in church at 3 years old and was singing in musicals at grade school. He even had the opportunity to perform with the all-state boys choir. Bassie discovered the electric bass in church when his uncle visited and played bass for the service. After losing his singing voice, Bassie started playing the acoustic guitar in substitution for the electric bass due to the expense of the bass. After learning to play the guitar for one year, Bassie’s mother decided that a bass guitar would be worth the investment. At 9 years-old, he started a band with 3 of his classmates. By the age of 12, his band was winning talent competitions over 30 and 40 year old musicians. By the age of 15, he had started performing and recording for various artists around the St. Louis area. Bassie Blue has been producing music for 2 years, and has a worthy resume. After a stint as an in-house producer for an up and coming L.A. based record label, he returned to St. Louis to begin a more ideologically independent music career. Studying jazz, r&b, pop, funk, rock, blues, country/folk, raggae, Irish folk music, hip-hop/rap and non-contemporary orchestral music has cultured Bassie and enabled him to become an exceptionally versatile music producer; arranging styles from pop, country, and rock to rap, r&b, and gospel.
"My mind is my instrument of choice. I count it great for myself to excel at performing on so many different musical instruments, but, to me, good thinking overshadows sheer talent."
