Kari Bel is a New Jersey native who was born in 1988 to Dominican parents.This 20 year-old Latina, R&B/Pop songstress discovered her singing and dancing talents at eight. Her vocal diversity and range is captivating, and it is undeniable that as soon as she steps on the stage she has everyone’s attention. Kari Bel is soulful, and she is also passionate about showcasing her spectacular artistic skills. Kari Bel is a motivated, enthusiastic and a beautiful performer. Kari Bel began exercising her singing abilities by performing at various charity events (Fort Lee Fire House and Police Department events), churches, high school, and private parties. In 2003, during her freshmen year in high school, she regularly sang the National Anthem for her high school’s basketball and baseball games. She impressed the entire student body and faculty staff each and every time she sang. In 2004 Kari Bel joined Jani, a R&B/Pop group of composed of three young girls in which Kari Bel had the chance to work in a group environment and train hard. However, after only a few months Jani was put to an end. Kari Bel then continued to work on her high school studies while remaining focused on establishing herself as a solo artist through her vocal training, songwriting development and dancing skills. In 2005, Kari Bel met Mark Pitts, (A&R at Jive Records) at a local Boston Market Restaurant. She expressed her desire to sing and perform and she inquired about learning how she could break into the music business. Soon after, Pitts began to guide her and introduce her to people in the industry such as Chris Brown with whom she is still remains friends with. In 2006, Kari Bel debuted as leading lady in Chris Brown’s “Gimme That” music video. She was hand picked by Brown and his manager Tina Davis. In 2007, Kari Bel has been working non-stop and showcasing her talent at some of the most prominent venues in New York City. Kari Bel continues to draw the attention of many fans from all over the world as well as the interest of top-notch writers and producers. Kari Bel was the winner of the 2007 Urban Music Awards’ “Most Promising Female Artist” award. She is also known through her modeling appearances in the February, July and December 2007 issues of Seventeen Magazine’s “Perfect Fit” articles, but most importantly, she is known for her charisma, talent and unique persona.
