BIO
The name "DIASYA" was inspired by a mythological festival honoring Zeus which took place in the countryside to welcome spring with joyful celebrations.
Night rites with cow shaped bread offering, bloodless sacrificies, feasts with gifts to children, dances and hymn chanting highlited the festival.
DIASYA was born in 2003 as LIBERO VOLPE 's instrumental solo project and continues to be influenced by mythology and ancient literature, together with the ethereal-gothic music atmospheres.
Many musicians represent very important models for DIASYA's sound:
Dead Can Dance, Arcana, Hans Zimmer, In The Nursery, The Cure and many others...
In november 2005 MARYLA (Mariangela Labianca) joined the project and in June 2006 DIASYA recorded, as a duo, their first DEMO-CD, "The Shape of Silence".
In June 2007 LIBERO produced "Bent El Rhya", a cd single including the b-side "On the wing".
