Standing Small

"A Christ-centered acoustic band that tastefully blends acoustic driven songs, with a beautiful melody." (CD Baby), Standing Small has been developing their style since early 2005; through weeks of hard-fought practices and over 25,000 miles of touring. Ryan, Rob, Corey, and Ben have been featured at such venues as Jammin Java (Columbia, SC), Joe's Java (Wilmington, OH), Cafe Jam (Greensboro, NC), Rockwells (New Jersey) and the Icthus (Wilmore, KY) and Lifelight (Sioux Falls, SD) Christian Music Festivals; and have shared the stage with bands such as The Myriad, Cool Hand Luke, 100 Year Storm, and Edison Glass. 13-hour drives, failed mapquest directions, broken guitars, malfunctioning bass heads, flus, 5 flat tires, and one snapped trailer have anything but stifled their determination and desire to fulfill their mission: to be "More than a Band... a Ministry that exists to cultivate and increase Faith through music, sharing the love of Christ that we have already received".
In less than a year they have played over 100 shows and performed in over 15 states. With one full-length, 13-track album behind them and a 5-song EP due to be released in early 2007, Standing Small is just getting started. They are becoming more refined, more developed in style and growing as brothers and as Christians. However, they are devoted to putting ministry first; unafraid to speak their beliefs from stage, to share their walks with those they meet, and to admit that they are imperfect and human too.
Their sound has been described as being diverse enough to have fans from ages 8 to 80: driving rock that you can move to; unashamed worship you can feel; beautiful melodies, heart-felt lyrics, and 100 percent truth that will keep you seeking to know our God's love for us more and more. And that's what they would want: that you would look past their own imperfect selves and see through to the only One who is good, the One who gave it all to save our souls.
