About Me
Christopher (Makuta) Thomas, Sr. born in Kingston, Jamaica moved to the U.S. at the age of six years old. One of seven children, Makuta grew up in Brooklyn, New York where he attended City College of New York and The Center for Media Arts successfully earning a degree in music production. He supported himself, a wife and two kids by acquiring a certificate as a master barber during his tenure in college. A protégé in the instruments of saxophone, clarinet, violin and keyboard his love for music allowed him after earning his degree in music and his creative abilities in song writing, to began orchestrating his first project, Rock Star. Nicknamed the Jack of All Trades, Makuta, continued to delve in fashion modeling and acting while diligently working on his music project. His experience and success in these three hot industries allowed him to merge his creativity, style, eclectic and soulful personality in order to materialize his life long aspiration in producing his own music project, Rock Star.Rock Star, is an infusion of techno, dance, pop and R&B. Makutas verses embrace the heavy twang of the electrical guitar and heavy bass that pumps through your speakers vibrating in your backbone! His music makes you want to get up and dance! Rock Star tells of the dreams and aspirations that we all suppress in wanting to be recognized for the talented individuals we are and in being free to pursue our dreams. It gently prods the aspects of living the glamorous life, following your dreams, falling in love and experiencing heartbreak. This project captures the elements of life in a positive and futuristic portrait. If there was any such comparison to Makutas cutting edge project, it would be to the late great, Rick James, Grace Jones, Prince and European eclectic icon, Sylvester, of which all had the ability to conjoin all of the elements surrounding glamour, fame, sex appeal and living life to the fullest! Rock Star is edgy, sexy and provocative. It goes beyond normality and is unlike anything you have ever heard. It appeals to all genres be it European or American, young or old, once this CD starts pumping all you can think to do, all that you will want to do is dance.Rock Star represents and posses the originality, creativity and diversity that the music industry is lacking today.
