Uncle Matt

I feel I am a pretty average guy, just trying to live the dream. I am at a point in my life where I am looking to grow to become the person I want to be; there is always room for improvement
I have come to find that I dislike too many people and I only truly come across genuine to the few people who are very close to me. In social situations with friends and acquaintances (new and old) I tend to leave the impression that I think everyone else’s interests, goals, ideas, and opinions are insignificant and unimportant and though this is sometimes true, I know it is not my place to judge. I believe that this stems from my subconscious belief that my interests, goals, ideas, and opinions are all just as insignificant and unimportant, if not more so.
I have recently found myself dwelling on certain social interactions (from the past and present) that I have been involved in where I wish I said something different, or not said anything at all. I recognize that this is due to the fact that I’m probably a little insecure and not as outgoing & trusting as I should be.
So to my friends, I know I am this way and I am really trying to become a better person, but it is not as easy as it sounds, your patience with me is much appreciated (though I do not show it as often as I should). I really do value your friendship and care for you all.
