About Me

MISSION STATEMENT: Air Fortress is a universal musical entity that spans starsystems, and drone unit Lucas BOT 2600b has been sent from the future to free the people of earth from the shackles of musical mediocrity. Air Fortress is a strong believer in being un-hip. so cut off that mop top, and burn your white belt! Air Fortress is real, and a force to be reckoned with. Don't be afraid to be un-hip, or unconventional. Though we are all from the same stardust, conformity is the supression of your effectual purpose on this planet. Release your inner geek and rock out to the analog algarhythmic soundz!

Be sure to check out Hidden Fortress' page. They are good friends and have remixed a couple of my songs through the years. Scroll up a bit and look under "2006 Compilations" to hear some of their remixes. You can click the image above to visit their myspace page.
Also Check out my new sideproject - "The Vector Fox". It's just me and a synth for this project as well but more of a Fantasy/Midieval feel to some of the music. I know, this is completely corny - I have my sci-fi synth project and a fantasy/midieval synth project now. Hope you like it - add to your friends list to support "The Vector Fox".
This is the newest project of the "Air Fortress" legacy of sound - Super Jamicom. This is strictly my VGR (Video Game Remix) project. There won't be any original cuts on this page but if you love video game music please check out "Super Jamicom" and add to your friends list to support this project.
Be sure to check out the gamewave podcast, soon to feature Air Fortress, and already featuring a lot of awesome chiptune and experimental artists

2006 Compilations

I was featured on the 2006 Chiptune comp "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Select, Remix". Be sure to download the whole thing and check out all of the other artists involved in this great comp. My song "Secret Spacestation" was remixed by good friends Hidden Fortress , and they retitled the song "I'm Looking For You". It is the 4th song down on my player so give it a quick listen before you go download the album.

2006 Releases

Ionic is the first AF release to feature the use of "chiptunes" using samples from the Nintendo Gameboy and Atari 2600 along with the classic AF arsenal of synths. this one features "Secret Spacestation" and "Cyborg Invasion" as some of the more notable tracks. - $7/ limited edition miniCD / shipping included in price for US buyers. Message me or email me at [email protected] if you're interested in any of my CDs.

I'd say this is the only AF release suitable for a Planetarium soundtrack. No drum tracks or grooves on this one, all ambient space music made on Synths ranging from the Korg MS-20, to a Roland MC-303. Sample tracks can be emailed upon request. $7 / Full length CD / Shipping included in price for US buyers. Message me or email me at [email protected] if you're interested in any of my CDs.

2005 Releases

.. ..
Click the above link for my Purevolume profile page, there is currently 3 exclusive songs on this page - Pure Volume is now the home of "Computation in sound", "Alan's Popcorn", and "Alpha SYNTHauri".

Here are some of my favorite synths that I've owned/played in bands with in physical and soft synth form... My overall fave is a tie between the moog rogue/korg polysix. If it weren't for these babies there would be no Air Fortress. MY OWN DESCRIPTION: Analog algaRHYTHMic modulation of the 3rd kind. Basically straight AC/DCesque drum beats with full, rich, pure, refreshing layers of analog synth gettin all up in your business. I've been compAIRed to Mark Mothersbaugh, Dualtrax, Devo, M-83, High School Science Films, and video game music from the 80's.

HERE'S AN EXCERPT FROM THE PORTLAND MERCURY: "While many electronic artists would take offense to having their sound pigeonholed as video-game music, I doubt that the one-man synth wizard, Air Fortress would mind one bit. Air Fortress' youthful moog safaris and obsession with mid-'80s cultural artifacts like "Flight of The Navigator" run a little thin, but it's all good clean fun."

All in game screenshots, box art, and game references © 1987-1989 Hal Laboratory / Hal America.

My music has nothing to do with the original game code/design/product other than reference. It is a tribute to the classic game and it's developers.
Record Label: Get a CLU music
