Golf. But not in a tragic 50 year old businessman wearing a cardigan way.
Music in all forms. I still play, and (a little less frequently) compose. I also try to plug the
Best Band in the Universe as much as possible. Who says nepotism is dead?
Oh yeah, riding motorbikes at completely legal speeds features pretty large in the agenda at present as well :p
I'd like to meet:
Niels Bohr, Stephen Hawking, Richard Feynman
Obviously some of those people are going to be a tougher proposition than others, unless anyone knows a decent psychic.
It would have been nice to meet Douglas Adams, but that one's a bit tricky now as well.
Just to be different, I'll tell you someone I have met - no-one famous, but this Icelandic geezer's name literally translated as 'the god of thunder and stones'(ish). How good is that?
Music:
The Dead 60s . Which is probably not much of a surprise to anyone. Check out their website. No, really, I'm not typing anything else until you do. The link is right there. Click it!
In general, I tend to go for the more aggressive side of loud these days. Slipknot, Black Label Society, RATM and Machine Head are pretty constant on my play list.
For more of a chilled vibe, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are still a class act, and Jamiroquai helps when I'm in serious danger of getting road rage.
The Dead 60s are pretty good too. Did I mention that?
Movies:
Where to start? I'm (generally) a big fan of Michael Caine films, particularly the Italian Job.
Bad Boys (and the sequel, otherwise known as the Will Smith show 1 and 2) was enjoyable, as were the matrix series (even if they did go a bit 'odd').
Shine will always be a classic, if only for the Rimsky-Korsakov scene.
Mind you, does anyone else find it annoying that for the price of a cinema ticket and popcorn (esp. in the UK), you could just go out and buy the DVD, a few beers, and sit in your own comfortable living room to watch it?
Television:
The only thing I seem to watch on TV is sport, and that's only when I can't go out and play it myself. There just aren't enough hours in the day to watch TV.
Except that show with the yellow people in it. That's ace that is.
In general, I spend far too much time shouting at the myriad inaccuracies on TV to be healthy anyway, so I'm trying to avoid it these days.
Books:
Terry Pratchett. Douglas Adams. Terry Goodkind. Rob Grant. Doug Naylor. Repeat as necessary.
In a marked break from tradition, I've just read a Jeffrey Archer novel. And much to my surprise, it was quite good. I know, amazing isn't it?
Heroes:
Dilbert. Homer Simpson. Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt OBE. Jeremy Clarkson.
