Born in London 1981, raised in Sheffield, JBREAKZ (real name Jay Bambridge, age 26) has only ever truly loved one type of music...Drum n' Bass. The obsession for DNB/Jungle started when he was 11 years old and got some copies of Jungle tapes like Easy-D, Ratpack, Grooverider and Jumpin Jack Frost. Since then there has been only one ambition, to play and produce. Things started to happen when J was 16 and completed Music Technology/DJ courses for Redroad Music Project in Sheffield. These courses taught the basics of making music using computer software & hardware such as Logic Audio, Pro Tools & the lengendary Akai sampler. This gave J the insight & inspiration to start trying his hand at producing. Now nearly 10 years later the feeling for the music is still as strong as ever. DJing is JBREAKZ passion in life and this is forfilled with regular sets at JADE as well as their weekly show on internet radio station Hardcore United and a new residency on the Hardcore United Disfunktional DJ's DNB Show. J has also performed for Redroad FM on their local radio station with 2 hour shows being broadcast throughout South Yorkshire. Just as much time has been spent on the other side of the decks...on the dancefloor, where J has always taken inspiration for his sets and productions, always listening to whats works and what doesn't and keeping an ear open for the next big tunes. With a huge collection and a brain with a built in A-Z of Drum n' Bass, buying vinyl is the main thing that ocupies J most days, with the almost habitual daily routine of scouring vinly websites and shops looking for the goodies. There has never been a set format to J's DJing, anything can find its way in to a set...if it has the right ingredients! Throughout 2007 JBREAKZ will be compiling a selection of mix downloads, which will be available to play or download from this site.
