Music:

I'm slightly obsessed by music and gigs. Fave bands include: The Smiths, The Cure, Stone Roses, Teenage Fanclub, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys, CSS, The Go! Team....and when I'm feeling like something a bit more mellow Belle & Sebastian, The Delgados, Nouvelle Vague, Camera Obscura, Grandaddy and Elliott Smith usually do the trick.

Movies:

Goodfellas, True Romance, Clerks, Gregory's Girl, Spinal Tap, Amelie....to mention a few.

Television:

6 Feet Under, The Office, The Day Today, King of the Hill.

Books:

If This Is a Man - Primo Levi....This is the best book I've ever read. It's an Auschwitz survivor's account of his time in the camp. It certainly stopped me moaning about work, the weather, the price of beer, etc for a while.Leave It To Psmith - PG Wodehouse...... PG Wodehouse is the sharpest, funniest writer ever. And the good news is he wrote approx. two thousand books.

My morning prostitute

Being a creature of habit, I make the same journey at the same time to work every week-day morning. Very anal, I know, but clearly lots of other people also have never-varying morning r...

Stiletto Attack!

I've just been on a rare trip to my hometown, Aberdeen. My God, I'd forgotten how mad the city-centre is at the weekend. In one particularly violent moment on Saturday night, a boozed-up crazy woman r...

A good, old-fashioned mooner.

My teacher pal was telling me that three mystery school-girls were reported to the school yesterday for flashing their bare backsides to members of the public from a bus.   Th...

In appreciation of back dimples

Last night in the pub some friends and I were discussing the attractiveness of "back dimples". Not sure if that's the correct terminology but I'm referring to t...

Beards: an alarming new trend in indie.

Just been leafing through this week's NME and I've been struck by the high number of  indie stars currently sporting beards. Honestly, there's excess facial hair pictured on virtua...

They didn't do crowds!!

Just been to see Camera Obscura live. Fantastic! It's often said that Camera Obscura can be a touch whimsical (in fact they are so whimsical they make Belle & Sebastian look like Slipkno...

Did you know that South American kids......

......really do use the phrase, "Hey Gringo!" when addressing foreigners? Cool! Thought that was a myth. Quite how they could tell I was a foreigner is beyond me.
