BRICE VICK CHOREOGRAPHER---
While most Choreographers are spitting images of one another, Brice D. Vick courageously stands alone escorting celebrity recording artists to their peak by utilizing a unique approach to dance that is unattainable by conformists.
His electric style is rapidly becoming the standard for artists seeking to gain that critical edge that will set them aside in an industry that is flooded with clones. Brice D. Vick does not stop at what is ‘hot for the moment.’ Vick is known in the industry for pushing the envelope and encouraging artists to take a chance at being different. He forges his clients to not only embrace what has already been done but also encourages them to take their performance to the next level - - stimulating audiences with something refreshingly new, distinctive, and most of all memorable.
The young Choreographer's talent was soon after recognized by then “up & coming” Princess of Hip Hop, Ashanti. Moving quickly and with precision, Vick then choreographed many of her stage shows; videos; and television appearances. His hard work hurdled into the spotlight after staging a tantalizing dance number for Ashanti’s hit single, “Only You”. Opting to shock audiences with a new element to the show, the two put their heads together and came up with hot concepts sans back up dancers. And no one could call this dynamic duo one hit wonders. The two did it again on a recent episode of Regis & Kelly—even inspiring Host Kelly Ripa to get off her stool and join in on the fun. The success of the “Only You” dance number caught the eye of some of the most promising emerging artists in the industry including Remy Ma whose “Conceited” and “Wuteva” videos embrace equally delectable dance combos.
Throughout his stint as a Dancer and Choreographer, Vick has brought his unique dance approach to an array of artists including R. Kelly, Christina Aguilera, Rah Diggah, Lenny Kravitz, Destiny's Child, Mobb Deep's Prodigy, Sticky Fingaz, Lauryn Hill, The Roots, Lords of the Underground, Jah Rule and Bobby Brown.
His work has traveled to some of the most recognizable stages in the nation including stops at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman. Vick has put his stage direction prowess to work creating production numbers for some of the most celebrated live stage performances that have aired on the most prestigious networks in the nation. These credits include:
NBC's “Stars On Ice” featuring Figure Skater and Olympic Champion Sarah Hughes
NBC’s Drama Series, “Las Vegas”
MTV's 2005 “Celebrity Basketball Tournament”
ABC's “American Music Awards”
BET’s “106th and Park”
Nickelodeon’s “All That”
Vick’s hot flashy style has afforded him the privilege to travel abroad, not only for choreographic opportunities but to conduct master classes at a variety of venues in South Asia, South Africa, Germany, Italy, Rome, and London. His most recent master classes generated over $10,000 for the local Katrina Relief Funds in Miami and West Palm Beach.
Vick accredits his versatility and authentic style to his dance training at the Bernice Johnson Dance Studio in Jamaica Queens, New York, where he studied Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern (Graham/Horton), traditional West African and Hip-Hop dance. He was also blessed with the opportunity to work with legendary Choreographers Michael Peters, Shirley Black Brown, Debbie Allen, David Robertson, Carla Earle, George Faison, and Tina Bush. He furthered his studies at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance where he received a Coca Cola Scholarship and awarded the Artistic Excellence Award over 500 candidates from around the world. Further training has also taken place The Dance Theater of Harlem and The Alvin Ailey School of American Dance.
Vick is grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to him throughout his career and he is anxious to have his talent visualized in Film and on Broadway. Whether it’s a fashion show, music video, television commercial or a live concert, Vick is up for the challenge. With his unique approach and style, it is more than safe to say that Vick is a Choreographer to be watched.
