Strengths
· The Sales and Marketing Department offers a lot of advancement opportunities for trainees.
· The office of the Sales and Marketing Department has a good atmosphere.
· All of the staff in the Sales and Marketing Department are friendly, kind and humorous.
· They always thank trainees for a job being done.
· They encourage and motivate trainees.
Weaknesses
· The department lacks employees.
· Computers in the Sales and Marketing Department are malfunctioning.
· They are over depending on their trainees and give them too much work.
· The payments to suppliers are delayed.
· Some of the staff do not properly observe break periods.
· Some of the staff are not regular and punctual with their attendance.

Strengths
· They let a trainee work and decide for his/her own.
· The rules and regulations and the standard operating procedures are always being reminded.
· They have a good working system.
· The staff is friendly and kind.
Weaknesses
· Some of the staff do not properly observe break periods.
· They lack supervision of all their areas of responsibility.
· Some of the rules and regulations and standard operating procedures are not being followed.
· The Housekeeping Office is small and not well organized.
· They have too much trainees that is why a trainee’s duty sometimes is just to sit all day.
Conclusion and Recommendations:
Sales and Marketing Department
This practicum proves again another common saying that “Experience is the best teacherâ€. It was in this practicum where the practicumer recognized that what he knows is very little in comparison to what she still needs to learn.
She can say that being assigned in the Sales Department was indeed a great and wonderful experience. The Sales Department offers a lot of advancement opportunities. It was in this department where she began to search and learn new things.
She therefore concluded that the Sales Department plays one of the most important roles in a hospitality industry. Without a good Sales Department, a hotel cannot function properly and lots of conflicts may occur.
She strongly recommends that computers must be checked at all times and additional employees must be hired to avoid over depending on practicumers. The Head Controller must monitor all of his staff so that proper break periods will be observed. At the same time, all of his staff will be punctual and regular with their attendance.
Housekeeping Department
The Housekeeping Department has a large area of responsibility inside the hotel that is why it has more employees than any other department. The Housekeeping Department is considered as the heart of the hotel.
The practicumer therefore concluded that a department without a leader is like a traveler that has no destination that’s why an effective Executive Housekeeper is needed in this department because the Executive Housekeeper serves as a leader and directs all of his staff to function properly.
In his own little own way, he would like to recommend the following: rules and regulations must be implemented at all times and the Executive Housekeeper must always supervise and monitor all of the Housekeeping Department area of responsibility. He must emphasize complimenting and rewarding the employee for good work instead of disciplining for improper performance.
