Water & Land constitute Mother Earth. WALA [WAter & LAnd] brand is about a person's balance with nature when sporting. WALA draws its inspiration from the Hawaiian lifestyle, where they use the island to sustain their heritage - a virtue that exemplifies the true meaning of coexistence. The island concept of civilization is about a balance in all areas, about taking, but also giving back.

We use Mother Earth in many ways: skating through her parks, riding her waves, hiking her mountains, or speeding down her land's frozen face. WALA endorses a person's goal of defying, and respecting, nature through sports.

This positive balance ensures the experience for others in the future. WALA donates a portion of its sales to charities that preserve nature and wildlife. Our trademark of [respect your mother (TM)] is about respecting Mother Earth and all she gives us. As we say, "Respect Your Mother...You only Get One."

Our History: WALA was founded by two friends with the same vision. Paul "Big Hats" Hatter [born & raised on the North Shore of Oahu] and stryker ::: aka Stryker Lampe [born & raised in S. California] wanted to create a true sporting and gear brand that was actually made / printed /embroidered in the USA. A brand where the owners actually originated & live, rather than a marketing tool for a large corporation.

Their creation was WALA [water & land], a simple brand that you define by your lifestyle rather than a brand that defines your image. They decided they would only make their clothes if they could do it in a manner that reflected their personal values and vowed that they would never compromise those values and make their clothes overseas*. They personally make sure that the people who manufacture / print / embroider their products have a sweatshop free workplace and are currently working on making their entire line truly organic from the thread / dye / fabric / ink.

WALA donates 1 dollar from all online sales. Our web site repectyourmother.org will detail who we support, where the donations have been made, and tips on changes that the average person can make to do their part or donate time / money. We center on an individual’s SELF-RESPONSIBILITY to make a change without blaming or involving politics. One person can make a difference & that person is YOU - get on board and ride the wave…
