About Me

What's to know? Not much! If you stick around I guess you'll find out!
I really haven't got a clue what to put here... I'm just me and that's about it really! If you don't know me, get in touch and GET to know me, make up your own mind! People say I'm amusing, good to know, friendly, deep, all kinds of things... BUT they could well be wrong. Who knows? Not me, I ain't got a clue... Maybe if you know me you could tell me who I am in a message, and I'll stick it in here to serve as a warning for others! Yeah, great idea Darren - get everyone else to do the work for you. FANTASTIC plan. It can't POSSIBLY go wrong... *rubs hands*
Hmm... What else... I worked in IT for nearly 15 years, making web sites and doing all kinds of dull geeky stuff. But after a rather stressful couple of years, under immense work pressure etc, it all got a bit much (lost sight of the important things in life) so I got out... That was a while ago now and I still haven't really sussed where to head for next (does anyone ever REALLY know where they are going?) so I'm just kinda making my way and seeing where I end up. Currently working in a Magistrates Courts which is, err, well, interesting to say the least! I've got SOME direction though, irons in fires, fingers in pies. But not fingers in fires, that'd hurt. So we'll see... One thing is for sure, there's never a dull moment, and you never know WHAT is coming next. That's a good thing!

My Interests

Cars, retro stuff, orange, retro cars, retro orange stuff, retro orange cars, orange oranges, retro oranges, retro car stuff, retro car orange stuff, orange stuff, stuffed oranges, you get the idea. Not retro car oranges though, cos THAT would be STUPID.
I love old cars and funk/soul/hiphop/jazz music. I love going away to VW Festivals and shows, drag racing, rallying... I love sitting out under the stars, exploring new places, learning new things, meeting new people. I'm not really a TV/Big Brother/Soap Opera kinda guy, I'm not a clubber/raver, and I'm not a fashion follower or lover of any other consumerist/materialist stuff like that either. If that makes sense. Just not my kind of thing really... Doing my own thing, making my own path through life and all that. I'm happy on my own, but I'm happier when surrounded by good friends.

I'd like to meet:

mm... Dunno really. I do enjoy meeting and getting to know people, everyone has a story to tell, everyone is intriguing, everyone has something you can learn from. I like meeting people that see the world in the same way that I do (doesn't happen often!) but I'm fascinated by those that don't, also. So... If you fancy saying hello, don't be afraid to do so... Get in touch!

Woerthersee 2008 SLEEPS COUNTER!!!1!

Music:

Yeah. DJ Shadow, Jazz, Blues, breakbeat stuff, turntable wizardry, Herbaliser, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Ninja Tune, Studio !K7 etc etc etc etc...

Movies:

Not really. Don't have the attention span! Faves include The Matrix, Le Mans (Steve McQueen but the 917 is the REAL hero), The Italian Job (the original OBVIOUSLY), Austin Powers, and The Pink Panther films though.

Television:

Nah. There's never 'owt on, is there? Rubbish.

Books:

Never really get chance to read them, fave has to be Neuromancer by William Gibson though. Or Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. Cyberpunk innit. Magazines for me, CAR and Retro Cars are the main two.

Heroes:

None. I don't really believe in the concept of them... Weird, huh?
