get down on your knees, i've got a big surprise for you!

About Me

I am from Dublin originally, and currently live in New York City, in the West Village. I emigrated to the US in early 1994, living for six years in the greater Boston area - mainly West Somerville and Beacon Hill.
Generally I like to hang around downtown, checking out various cute neighbourhoods, going to restaurants and bars, checking our some cool stores, galleries, etc. I've not spent as much time going to the theatre as I did when I first moved here, but have just started getting back into that! I also enjoy going to the opera.
Stuff I like:
Kiehl's #1 Musk. Blue teeshirts. Converse All Stars. Black sweaters. Jeans. Chanel #5 (on girls). Foie gras. Sweetbreads (all kinds of offal and such really. Never tried brains though, and in no hurry to). Sea urchin. Creme brulee. A perfectly roasted chicken. Bacon. Toasted baguette with butter and honey. Sorbet. Great coffee. Limes. Tayto crisps. A night at the opera. Countertenors. Counterpoint. Trumpets. Baroque Music. Brown eyes. The smell of lavender. The smell of jasmine. The smell of pipe tobacco. A nice bottle of Burgundy, red or white. Champagne. A well poured, nicely chilled pint of Guinness. Martinis. Manhattans. Mojitos. Art galleries. Book shops. Paris. London. Spain. New York City. Thailand. Home. Warm weather. Sunsets. Parks. Being in the countryside. Feeding sheep and goats out of my hand. Still reading? Guitars. Electro-Harmonix gear. Hearing great new music. The New Yorker magazine. John Irving novels. Roses. Magnolia. Old-fashioned shaving gear. Iconoclasts. Spontaneity. Adventure. Giraffes. MINI Coopers. Black & White. Licorice. Luggage (but not baggage). Train journeys. Clear, crisp, clean mornings. Lu + Lo. The other kitties. Having great ideas. Writing a new piece of music. Being on the water. Visiting new places. The West of Ireland. Black pudding. The Red Sox being up on the Yankees. The Frick Museum. The view of Dublin Bay from the air, the arc sweeping out from Killiney towards Bray, with the Sugar Loaf mountain beyond. Obama 08. Bois d'Iris. French pop music. Zaytoon's Chicken Shwarma sandwich. Mary Chung's Dun Dun Noodles. Franny's Clam Pizza. Warm Sweaters. Uniqlo colored socks. Family visits (here and there). Laughing with friends. Classic English and American TV show themes.
Music:
I've recently gotten back into playing music, and am in a band called Chekhov's Wig. I sing lead vocals and play guitar. I am currently playing Fender guitars: I've a black "Contemporary" Stratocaster (model 27-5400), which I got in the mid-80s, and a white Fender Jaguar guitar (CIJ); my amp is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and my effects are, in order, a DigiTech Synth Wah, a Maxon OD808 (overdrive), a Boss DS-1 (distortion), a Boss HM-2 (distortion), a Boss BF-2 (flanger), an EHX Stereo Pulsar (tremolo), an EHX Small Stone (phaser), a DOD FX90 (analog delay), an Ibanez DE-7 (delay/echo), and a Line 6 Verbzilla (reverb). You can check out the band here on MySpace . We did a show in NYC in June 2008, and on January 12th we played at the SBS:2008 event at New World Stages in NYC!
Work:
I recently launched a new business, selling men's shaving, skin care and fragrance products online, with many top brands lined up to work with me! It is located at rasage.com .

Create your own Friend Quiz here

I'd like to meet:

I'm not a "friend collector" - most people here I know in real life or am in contact with on various messageboards. I also add bands that I am actively interested in or new artists that seem interesting to me.

If you'd like to be added to my friends list and your MySpace name is not one I'd recognize, please send me a message in addition to a friend request!

And, please, don't leave a ginormous "Thanks for the add" graphic, I'll have to delete those! ;-)
