The strange mix of music and lyrics that would define the band,
took shape when Abick and Mateo began jamming together in the
summer of 2004. Their opposite takes on music brought out a
unique sound that would carry over into the band.
In September of 2005, Leoric and his brother came on board as
drummer and singer. After jamming for several months, no
musical progress had been made and everyone went their own
way. Abick and Mateo continued to play and write.
In 2006, a lead guitarist was added in the form of Menace. The
three of them began jamming together in a storage unit they
rented out. After a frustrating search for a drummer and vocalist,
Leoric came back to drum.
Soon after Leoric rejoined the group, Mateo left on a
religious charge, leaving Matter of Opinion without a bassist.Matter of Opinion was in the making.
