40 random facts about me.1. I was born in British Columbia 2. I watched the Brady Bunch for the first time when I was 19... It was stupid. 3. When I was 4, I read Heavy Metal Magazine in the outhouse. 4. Didn't have a TV when I was a kid. 5. I hate flying. 6. I fly a lot. 7. I study climate change... more specifically what kind of crap is in the rain and snow... yes it is relevent to climate, I won't explain here. 8. Climate skeptics make me really, really mad, because they don't know what they are talking about, but still manage to convince people of BS. 9. I watch Survivor...and I'm only slightly ashamed. 10. Toby is my dog and I love him. 11. Mason and I got married after living together for 11 years. 12. We have no children. 13. I am not pregnant. 14. At eight years old I could drive a tractor. 15. I love salmon sashimi. 16. I can make an awesome lemon merengue pie. 17. Gardening makes me happy... dirt is a theme with me. 18. I am a graduate student at Scripp Institution of Oceanography. 19. I have been a student now for 27 years. 20. I have visited or lived in the following countries... USA, Canada, Mexico, France, Spain, Czech Republic (I am not counting lay overs at airports) 21. I have asthma. 22. Also I am lactose (it could be the protein) intolerant.. whatever... I get a stomach ache when I eat ice cream or cheese and that is totally depressing. 23. Once I was going to be a librarian. 24. I have "experimented" with more than you think. 25. We went to Maui and Hawaii Island for our honeymoon and were nearly killed by volcanic fumes. 26. I can run 2 miles. 27. I talk to my mom almost every day. 28. I have swam naked in the ocean on several occasions. 29. If I don't drink coffee within 1.5 hours of getting out of bed, I will have a terrible headache for the whole day. 30. I recently spent $80 on a pair of pumas... this is the most money I have ever spent on shoes... ever... in my whole life. 31. I have one published research paper. 32. I don't have a middle name, unless you count my maiden name which is now my middle name... so I guess that I do. 33. My first dog was named Daisy. 34. I can't seem to drink enough water everyday. 35. I only have one living grandparent. 36. My favorite alcoholic drink is a bloody mary. 37. I prefer red wine to beer. 38. I am sometimes allergic to white wine. 39. I have a ganglion cyst on my right wrist. 40. I have freckles.

My very first paper got accepted!!! I'm going to be a published author in the Journal of Geophysical Research.  This also means I now have a chance in hell of graduating in this century.
