Archie a.k.a Captain Hook first blessed the mic back in '96, aged 15, spitting to jungle, and making mixtapes with his pal Richard who inherited his dad's 1210s. Eventually he made the progression from Jungle to Grime, emceeing on pirate radio stations and performing at live events with STS & The Alliance, underground garage crews formed with other heads from around the way (Stevenage). Unfortunately due to musical differences, both crews disbanded.
Shortly after, he left Hertfordshire moving back to London where his dad had his own studio. This gave Archie the time to develop his skills, lyricism, and experiment with music production techniques with his dad as his mentor.
A few years later, he emerged onto the scene once again as a solo artist. Having moved from grime to hip hop, a musical genre in which he felt he could better express himself. Making aquaintances with other like-minded musicians, he went on to form Septic Science, at it's height a 7 man strong crew of producers, DJs and emcees. As with many bands, some of it's members branched off in different directions until only the dedicated survived. The Science in it's now current state consists of six members: Archie, Vinny-B, Standard, .22, Soul Coke, and I.C.
Having been working hard in the studio, Septic Science have recorded many tracks refining their style, with members hailing from many different backgrounds, Septic Science aims to bring the real essence of hip hop; true lyricism with meaning, and original beats combining what's real, with what's sick! Whether you want something different, you want something that makes you think, or you want something you can vibe and relate to, The Science will impress./
Look to the fall of '07 for the release of both Archie's solo joint, I.C's solo joint, and the Septic Science album, all featuring productions by Archie himself, and I.C.
It's on! Peace-out!
