My name is Melanie and I am a procrastinator. SinCity is my current world however; my heart is broken up in little pieces and spread around the earth. It is been looked after by every person in my life that I love.QLD is my home; the smell, taste, feeling of belonging, the sun, the heat, the open road, beaches that stretch on forever, big backyards and Sunday afternoon bbq’s. I have learnt three things that will always ring true – the only person you can rely on is yourself; your life is entirely your own responsibility and yours alone - it is as bad or as good as you make it; & love is the only thing that is necessary to life. Everything else is an optional extra. My mum and my sister make up the other 2 thirds of my soul, and the beautiful group of individuals who I call my friends but are really my family are the reason I get out of bed every morning.I'll try anything once, cuz why the hell not. I live to laugh, and love. Oh, and shop. Scarred from watching Sleepless in Seattle at a young age i'm a massive romantic that over analyses absolutely everything. In SinCity I walk dogs at the Carlton shelter to satisfy my need to be around animals, & purposefully live in an apartment with no yard so I cannot bring any home. I'm studying to be a counsellor so I can work with the strongest people I know - kids at Sydney Children's Hospital and other peadiatric hospitals around the country. Although sometime, very soon, I plan to escape this country in order to try and make some sense of this lifetime.The following makes for a perfect life; watching my dogs leap through long grass in the bush, reading books in beautiful places, driving my car singing my heart out with the windows down (i'm a no air-con needed girl).... eating the flavouring off crackers, milo from the tin and people watching with a hot mocha. The smell of summer rain, half sleeping cuddled up in bed in winter, words. Just words. BBQ sauce (with everything), free stuff anywhyere anytime, very vanilla lattes, live concerts (especially when i can take my shoes off and dance barefoot on grass any given sunday) & colours. I hate people who are late, and waiting - for anything. Waiting is not something I can do. I hate unnecessary rudeness, and people who don't smile at you when you pass them in the corridor. Love getting flowers from someone who loves me (thanks mum!)and wineoclock friday 5pm no matter what. I will listen, but be aware if I have an opinion you will hear about it, whether you agree with it or not....
