Soul Mystic aka "wutudik" aka "Pico Martinez" was brought into the world this time around in Oakland, California 1980. Born and raised in the Bay Area. Go A's and Raiders!
A writer of poetry and seeker of higher knowledge since a child, Soul Mystic uses his abilities to express himself, make political commentary, point out things that you might not see, and explore the contradictions in life. He is inspired by what he does not see.
Writing rhymes came early in life, and he wrote poetry books in junior high that recieved county wide recognition. Completely intrigued by the structure of language and the effect of rhythm and word on the mind, Mystic began exploring his abilities in high school...
During high school, he performed in numerous talent shows, showcases of art, and freesytled at countless house parties. Most notable were the appearances at the pirate Pete Hein's place... His first group, Celestial Sickness, received a great response on their first appearance, winning a talent show. The Bench Mob received a somewhat milder response when they and Soul Mystic put on the show of all shows at the end of their high school careers one fateful night...
Despite the madness and newspaper reports, Soul Mystic was able to leave California after high school and spend four years on the East Coast.
He went to Cornell University in New York, where he formed another band, Poetic Alchemy.www.garageband.com/artist/poetic_alchemy

Alchemy was together for 4 years, producing three independent albums and playing too many shows to count. From house parties, to festivals, to school event, to bars and clubs - Alchemy did it all. Their blend of sound and consciousness was so unique that true Alchemy fans know that what they were able to experience at that time was pure magic. Their live shows were electric, and they often included jamming with bad ass dub band "The Uplifters".
pA did some big things, including winning the battle of the bands against 30 other live acts and also opening for Method Man and Redman during the Blackout Tour. Their 3rd album, Alchephibious, is a lyrical playground with so wide a sonic backdrop you could drive a two semis through it and still have room.
After graduating, pA went their separate ways and have continued to stay in touch. Soul Mystic went back to the Bay Area for 2 years, and then moved to San Diego in 2004 to pursue his music/entertainment career and do go into business for himself.
He is currently working with a new group of enlightened heads -
