From Europa to Detroit and back...

About Me

Nukubus is a Rotterdam based producer and dj, who has been making music since 1995. Heavily influenced by the melancholic vibe of the Detroit pioneers and the thrilling sounds of early Dutch techno, he started experimenting with a delay-unit during his internship at the Audiovisual Department of the Royal Dutch Navy. Making the strangest of noises with this machine resulted in his military co-workers giving him the nickname Nukubus: Nutteloze Kut Burger, which translates roughly into F***ing Useless Citizen.
In his early music making days he got in contact with the members of Unit Moebius and Bunker Records in The Hague, which proved to be an important turning point. In the Unit Moebius studio Nukubus made his first experimental techno recordings and he filmed the Lunemex Undo-ground video for them. Bunker Records released the first two Nukubus ep’s: Survival Of The Funkiest and Second Moon .
Meanwhile Nukubus joined forces with Raoul , as Syncom Data , which resulted in two ep’s on Bunker: 50 Pop Or An Envelope and the SD01 ep . The latter also being the unofficial starting point of their own record label: SD Records .
In 2007 Nukubus returned with the Europa ep on SD Records, featuring two remixes by Detroit electrotechno legends Aux88 .
