DEE HOLLEWOOD

About Me

....from the hood to HOLLEWOOD. Take a walk with this precocious young talent, DEE HOLLEWOOD. At the age of six, Hollewood’s creative talents were acknowledged by his mom and he was introduced to the hip-hop world by his cousin. “My mom dukes who was born and raised in Harlem then later moved to Jersey has played and continues to play a pivotal role in my life both personally and professionally”. Now fast-forwarding to a few years later: her recognition would light the match that would spark the flame to an evolving musical pursuit upon introducing Hollewood to Kay, a young dude from the streets of Harlem, who would soon after become his manager. Kay then turned and introduced Hollewood to Moe a bell ringer from BK. Moe gave Hollewood his name after hearing him rhyme. “Before the kid even spit [for me] there was something special about him, then when he started to flow, it was like I could see him on a stage surrounded by stars, and bright lights, and tons of fans going bananas over his music.” With the formation of their production company, Bottom Line, Kay and Moe quickly recruited Hollewood as their star player. Spending time with these dudes in their stomping grounds is definitely evident in Hollewood’s swagger. From his laid back style to his aggressive flow, the mesh-up of Brick City, Harlem, and BK outputs a product that both the streets and the ‘burds beckons for. “All the violence, drugs, and poverty I’ve seen is a lot for anyone to deal with especially a kid, so I want to be the voice for the kids who aren’t heard-it’s a way to get it off of my chest, for me and them, for US”. Hollewood will inevitably be placed in a category with fellow teen rappers Bow Wow, Lil Romeo, and Cory Gunz, but the comparisons ceases here. What makes HOLLEWOOD stand out is the fact that he has no prior history with any entertainment affiliates. He is determined to make noise in the rap game based upon his own merits. "A lot of people make reference to new rappers based upon who they’re cool with...I want my first steps into the game to be about ME, MY lyrics, MY flow, MY style...MY WAY!” Hollewood’s talents have reigned upon The Apollo, BET’s 106 & Park, Weekend Vibe, college radio stations and many talent shows, including the nationally known All-Star Talent Competition. His ability to touch upon many topics is evident in songs like “My Life”, where he talks about the experiences and angst of life through a kid’s eyes, “Call Me Hollewood”, is a smooth and straight forward protest for listeners to get familiar with him as an artist, and “The Way It Is” states the truth about the shallowness of people who want to be down once you’ve made it but want no part of the proceed of trying to get there. After hearing him speak, you will forget that he was born a little more than a decade ago. This kid’s independence and decisiveness is definitely awe-inspiring. Then after hearing him spit, he lures you in peaking your interest, and then he’s gotcha screaming for more [email protected] www.myspace.com/welcome2hollehood www.mog.com/deehollewoodd.hI edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
