Mellstrum has been a part of chicago hip hop for over 15 years. One of the many pioneers who helped bring attention to Chicago when it was looked at from the corner of the eye. Along with many other Chi acts, Mellstrum helped to end alot of the negative hype about Chicago. Many Chicago emcees have adopted hip hop and black culture from exposure to his gift or mere presence. Since then, his production and lyrical craft has evolved to cut him a niche as one of Chicago's finest. Performances took place at venues such as: African Fest, Bop Shop, Wild Cherry, Dalton Expo, Wild Hare, Elbow Room, Regal Theatre, Subterranean, Lion's Den, Wisconsin University, Columbia University, Western Illinois University, Tuskegee University, Whpk, Wiit, 92.3fm, Wkkc, B96fm, The Shelter, The Dome, The Double Door, 19th and Michigan and many more...Shout out to Mexiplex, Precise, Vic, Smyftech,DJ Kevin Maxey, Yeshua, DJ Marty Mcfly, Elfshimma, Spin Club, Brickheads, Masters of Forbidden Arts, Broke Pockets, Lord Hakim and A-cipher. Usually, Mell possesed an unearthly abstract style that had to be brought to the laymans level because the young knuckle heads needed attention. If my clones are looking to test me after ten years of getting their nerve up-come to the lord of the flies! Streets and Science is the key to survival.
