About Me
6) Fleurs Physical Appearance:Fleur’s Veela heritage provided her with a stunning physical appearance. Her mother has always said that she resembles her grandmother, who was a Veela herself and whose hair is the core of Fleur’s wand. Fleur’s hair is her most prized feature, and she has never, ever cut it short. It falls about three-quarters of the way down her back and is silvery-blonde in hue. She is very vain of her hair especially, and when it is not loose, the best stylist she could find in London arranges it in elaborate hairstyles. If she tosses her hair to help it catch the light or to gain the attention of some poor, captivated male, a wave of perfume follows – even her hair must smell nice.Fleur has a well-proportioned face, with a small nose and high cheekbones. Her complexion has always been excellent, and she has very few facial blemishes. She has a full, red mouth with a nice smile, showing white, even teeth. Her eyes are a sparkling blue colour, framed by light eyelashes, which require her to use some mascara. In general, you would think that Fleur’s natural beauty would cause her to use very few cosmetics, but this is untrue. She uses many cleansers on her skin, she adores expensive perfume, and she sometimes wears small amounts of eye shadow.Fleur is graceful in build, reaching a height of about 5’5†and weighing about 117 pounds. She is not at all muscular – she hates any sort of physical exertion and would hate to look anything but the delicate flower she is. She has slim hands ending in long, graceful fingers with carefully manicured nails. She will not wear any clothes that are not from a famous wizarding designer with a famous price tag to go with them. The garments she wears are fairly simple in an elegant sort of way. Fleur despises people who wear gaudy clothes in busy patterns and she believes that she certainly knows better than they do. Her clothing is not overly revealing – she has men staring at her as it is – and again, she feels those who do wear such fashions are tacky and low class, but they are certainly not conservative by any means.Fleur’s only worry now, is in fact, worries. With recent events, she is not half as carefree as she was as a child or as a maturing teenager. She tries desperately not to let any sort of mental turmoil affect her picture-perfect reflection in the mirror, as she feels that when all is said and done, looks are all she has. Lately, she has begun to get quite agitated about a small, very faint line on her forehead – a worry line – which is the first sign that her perfect appearance will not last forever.7) Fleurs Personality:Fleur Delacour grew up as the only child, pampered and spoilt by her rich parents, not to mention that she was gorgeous from the time she was a toddler to the present day. She was profoundly affected by this, and became snobbish and overconfident. Her ego swelled enormously, since it was as if she was the centre of the universe during her younger years. With the birth of her younger sister and her acceptance to Beauxbatons, Fleur’s opinion of herself shrank somewhat, but since she was the leader of her group of friends and her sister looked up to her so much that she practically idolised her, it is easy to see that it would not have shrank by much. After the traumatic experience of the third task and losing the Triwizard Tournament, Fleur finally began to realize, for the one of the first times in her life, that the world did not revolve around her and her happiness. Her subsequent move to England and her relationship with Bill, who was not a spoilt rich kid who was to inherit his parents’ massive fortune (ironically, it was rather the opposite), caused her dismissive and haughty attitude to begin to disappear. Fleur would not be Fleur if it disappeared all together of course, and she certainly still has her frequent snobby moments, but she is not half as arrogant as she was as a teenager.Fleur is quite vain. Since her grandmother was a Veela, her looks are practically perfect, and she gets much male attention because of them, this is practically inevitable. She enjoys the attention that is bestowed upon her because of her looks and though now, at least, she tries not to show it as much, she takes pride in every single person’s glance in her direction, hanging onto the fact that if they believe that she’s something special, she must be. If someone does not notice her appearance, she feels almost offended. This leads to the fact that underneath her beauty, Fleur can sometimes be insecure. Lately, she has begun to worry that she is not good enough, though she hides it under a mask of confidence. This is probably due to the fact that she feels that she isn’t doing enough in the war against Voldemort and maybe her loss at the Triwizard Tournament. She is sure of herself to an extent, but this does not rid her of some of the small doubts she has about whether she will live up to people’s expectations of her upon perceiving her.Fleur is not a particularly ambitious person, but if she does have a particular goal then she will work hard to achieve it, using her looks as necessary without any qualms about that being wrong. She often sees her appearance as a means to an end – just another tool for her to work with. Fleur is a perfectionist in every sense of the word. She sets high standards for others and for herself, and when she cannot meet her own astronomically high expectations, it can depress her for short periods of time. She is also fairly intelligent and good at spellwork – especially with charms and curses, the leg-locker curse being her favourite. Fleur can be manipulative at times, though not without at least a mediocre reason. She is not very street smart, however, being raised the way she was.For those who are not intimidated by her appearance, Fleur can be pleasant enough to talk to. She’ll be more pleasant if you’re richer or she happens to be in a good mood, but she believes rudeness is base and is at least coldly polite. She is very talkative around people she knows well, but she can be reserved among strangers. Manners were instilled in her at an early age, and the routines that they create give Fleur a sense of security. She looks down on individuals who do not have good manners, and believes that the only thing worse than not adhering to at least the minimum of proper etiquette is to wear a busy, floral patterned robe while carrying a purple and green striped purse and wearing big yellow, rubber boots. Though Fleur can be sometimes superficial or shallow, she can manage to overcome this, especially in people she knows well. She really does care about what people are like behind whatever exterior they project, though she might notice the exterior more than other people do, especially when she is dealing with individuals she barely knows.8) Your Character's History:
Fleur’s story began when her grandfather Henri on her mother’s side, a rich, pure-blooded wizard, encountered the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, Jolie, dancing in a forest outside of his parents’ summer home in the Loire Valley. He fell in love with her at first sight, even though he later learned that she was a Veela. Jolie felt he was below her and rejected him time after time. Henri never gave up, and one day, when he was at the spot where he’d met the girl (a place where he often went to daydream about her) he saw Jolie running across the clearing chased by about fifteen Cornish pixies. She was too panicked to even attempt to use her beauty and charm to control them (not that this would probably have worked anyway), but Henri managed to drive the pixies away. So relieved that she was still alive, Jolie accepted Henri’s invitation to dinner, and one invitation became ten and a year later, the two were married.Jolie and Henri only had one child, Isabelle. Isabelle grew into a relatively competent witch herself, attending Beauxbatons as her father did. She was a precocious and very beautiful girl, as she took after her mother in looks for the most part. However, after she learned she could get whatever she wanted with her gorgeous appearance, she was loath to work hard for what she wanted. After she graduated, she married one of her rich classmates, Richaud Delacour, who lived in a fancy penthouse in Paris in 1977. Neither had any need of an occupation, as Richaud possessed enough money from his inheritance from his recently deceased parents too allow them to live luxuriously for many lifetimes. They had two children. Fleur was born in 1979 and Gabrielle was born about nine years later in 1988.Fleur was a beautiful baby and was doted on by her parents and by her various nurses and governesses from a very early age. She had designer baby blankets, expensive toys, designer footie pajamas…it was a wonder that her diapers were not made by the wizarding equivalent of Chanel. Whatever Fleur desired, her parents would usually provide her with it to the best of their ability. If she wanted something they could not give her (for example, at age four she asked for a rainbow because she loved the pretty colours), she would bawl and bawl and throw temper tantrum after temper tantrum. Distressed to see their daughter unhappy, her parents would soothe her with even more treats, leaving her spoilt. Since Fleur was the only child for many, many years, she also received all the attention, which left her with confidence and a huge ego. With her parents and everyone else telling her that she was special all the time, she had no one who disproved this statement. As she reached age eight, her parents began preparing her for boarding school, assuming that their wonderful daughter would be accepted into Beauxbatons as her family had for generations. Her governesses had been schooling her in basic reading and writing since she was six, but her mother was her real teacher. Her mother taught her what she thought to be the ‘important’ things – style and poise. Fleur was introduced to high society’s pleasures - theatre, music and fine art. As well, her mother began to mould her daughter’s fashion sense into the sophisticated taste that she still retains today. She would also regularly expose her to her fellow rich wizarding friends and friends’ daughters, and soon, being only exposed to rich people, Fleur became haughty and arrogant around those that were not of her social standing. When Fleur was nine, her younger sister was born. She was no longer the centre of her parents’ universe, and her macroscopic ego shrunk just a little. However, since Fleur was older and needed less attention by now (and was still provided with everything she wanted) she did not resent her sister. Instead, especially after she’d left for Beauxbatons and for the most part was not faced with dealing her with on a day to day basis, Fleur became very attached and protective of the young Gabrielle. Since Gabrielle was so much older and idolised her older sister, Fleur enjoyed having a one-girl fan club and enjoyed summers that she would spend with her younger sister. Gabrielle was also used as the hostage Fleur was supposed to rescue during the second task in the Triwizard Tournament. When Fleur began school at Beauxbatons, her looks and her confidence quickly won her many friends. She was the leader of this group, as she somehow managed to achieve high marks in her courses as well as win the attention of the male population of the school. She was one of the best students in her year, though she never really cared too much about her grades, as she strongly believed that her beauty was her greatest asset. This continued until her seventh year, when she participated in the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her name was drawn out of the goblet of fire and she became her school’s champion. However, things went downhill from here. Though she managed to complete the first task – getting past a dragon – she did not receive the highest marks out of the four. During the second task, grindylows attacked Fleur and Harry Potter himself rescued Gabrielle from the lake bottom. However, in the third task, in which the Dark Lord killed Cedric Diggory, Fleur was just grateful to be alive, postponed from finding the cup by being attacked by Krum under the Imperius Curse. When she returned back to school for the Beauxbatons end of year feast and her graduation, everything seemed different. She still had nightmares about the third task and worried about the rumoured message Harry Potter had relayed to Headmaster Dumbledore afterwards. All this worry made her worry because worrying never looked pretty and if she wasn’t pretty…well, that was something she was not prepared to contemplate. Her friends, who watched her lose the Triwizard Tournament and noticed her sudden lack of confidence and somewhat smaller opinion of herself afterward, realised that Fleur really wasn’t worth idolising and she drifting apart from those friends after she left school. After school ended, Fleur was at a loss as to what to do with her life. She could stay with her parents and live off their money, but the niggling seed of worry and insecurity in the back of her mind could not be overlooked. She felt she should do something, and that would take her mind off it. Thinking back to her experiences of the previous year, she remembered that though Hogwarts had been in England, she’d seen none of it as she’d resided in the school during her entire stay. She had also been briefly acquainted with Bill Weasley, who had been working as a curse-breaker for Gringotts in Egypt but had decided to work closer to home. Since Bill would be working there, and Fleur had to admit that she was attracted to the fiery-haired, second-oldest Weasley, taking a job at Gringotts seemed like a good choice. At the very least, she would improve her heavily accented English. Leaving her parents and her sister behind was a hard choice, but the reality of almost losing her life seemed to shrink Fleur’s ego somewhat and urge her on to do something productive with her life, even if it did mean doing something so middle-class as getting a job. After she moved to England, Fleur began to get to know Bill and soon the two were dating seriously. Even though Bill did not come from a rich family, as Fleur got to know him, she found she actually could talk to him – something she couldn’t do with many boys, even though they all did find her attractive. After some time, Bill had even persuaded Fleur to move out of the rather expensive hotel room she was staying in and move in with him, even though his place was much less fancy than hers was. It took her awhile to learn to live without every possible luxury that the wizarding world could offer, but she surprised herself by growing used to it in time, and even beginning to stop missing it…well, a little anyway. Fleur’s job at the bank was quite tedious for a witch of her credentials, though she supposed she’d be allowed to do more interesting work as she made her way up the ladder. During the first little while she worked at Gringotts, Fleur was giving the mind-numbingly-boring duty of handling transaction papers. She tried not to mind, but she couldn’t help but think that a student of her calibre was capable of something slightly more stimulating.Time went on and though times were becoming uncertain with the Dark Lord’s return, Fleur and Bill were determined not to let that affect their relationship. At the beginning of the summer of 1996, Bill proposed, despite the fact that his family was openly adverse to the match. Fleur happily accepted and Bill, thinking that if his family really got to know his future wife, they would grow to like her, decided to invite Fleur to stay for a few days. Since Fleur was only working part-time at Gringotts at this point anyway, this didn’t prove to be much of a problem, except for the fact that Fleur and his family really didn’t end up getting along better by the end of it. Fleur jumped at the chance to do anything slightly interesting out of sheer boredom, while the other Weasleys’ became annoyed with the French girl’s intrusion into their lives very quickly. Fleur was also invited at Christmas and her relations with Bill’s family did not improve much, though any tolerance Fleur had for Celestina Warbeck has been completely eradicated. When Bill was badly injured at the battle at Hogwarts at the end of Harry’s sixth year, Fleur, along with his family, went to see him as soon as possible. She was extremely worried for him when she heard that he had been bitten by a werewolf, but was extremely relieved to find that he had been bitten while the werewolf was in human form and thus, would not transform every month. Even though Bill was badly scarred, the French girl didn’t hesitate in impressing upon his family and on Bill that that would by no means stop the wedding. Though the Weasley family still rather disliked Fleur, this bridged the gap a little bit, especially between Fleur and Molly Weasley. Bill and Fleur were married in the presence of their friends and family early that summer. It was after they were married that Fleur began to notice Bill’s strange absences. Though she was still confident enough in her self not to become green with jealousy or assume there was ‘another woman’, she did become curious as to why Bill kept making excuses to her. Finally, one day she dragged it out of him. When Bill confessed that he was in the Order of the Phoenix, Fleur finally understood why he had been at Hogwarts and all made sense. However, she was frustrated that she couldn’t help, as her husband’s accident had shaken her up and she did not want to see him injured again. As well, she wanted Voldemort gone as much as the next person, and above that, her stellar grades from Beauxbatons clearly indicated that she was capable. One thing that did show her new maturity, however, was that Fleur did not complain incessantly to Bill or throw a childish temper tantrum. The French girl has entertained thoughts of joining the Order for a little while. She began working a debt-collector for Gringotts, trying to figure out who was funding Death Eater activities in the hope that this information would prove useful to the Order. She became quite determined, though in reality, she wasn't getting anywhere. Nobody she investigated had anything to do with Voldemort.Fleur has recently dismissed them after a rather awkward chat with Tonks and carefully thinking things through. Fleur knew that her husband would worry even more about her if she were in the Order and that at the end of the day, she would be more of a liability than an asset. She wasn’t an Auror; she didn’t know anything about defending herself. The Triwizard Tournament had proven that. What she needed to do was show unwavering support and not rush into danger prematurely. Fleur was ready to leave the heavy-duty work to the people who could handle it. If Fleur’s help was needed and she was called on by the Order, she would do everything she could for them, but right now she feels that if they need her, they know where to find her.Fleur still works at Gringotts part-time, though she does it more to keep herself occupied than anything else as she most certainly doesn’t need the money. She also does what she can for the war effort outside of the Order of the Phoenix. Her and Bill are still extremely close and whenever he is away, Fleur is extremely anxious and writes him almost every day. Fleur has grown somewhat closer to Bill’s family, having bridged the gap with Molly on the night Bill was injured at Hogwarts. However, her and the Weasleys definitely still have their differences occasionally. Bill’s absence in Ireland was hard on her, but now he is home and Fleur is very grateful that he made it back in one piece.9) Special powers/items/pets: Fleur has no pets. As for special powers, check appearance above.10) fleurs Wand: Fleur has an inflexible rosewood wand of length nine and a half inches. It contains one of her grandmother’s Veela hairs as its core. This gives it a rather sentimental value, and she has not replaced it since her school years at Beauxbatons. She would be at least a little upset if it snapped and she had to purchase a new one.
If id did go to hogwarts. I'd be a Slytherin.
