==========================================JANNY POPPS (Hip Hop Artist)Born in Trinidad, Janny Popps spent his first years surrounded by the sounds of caribbean music. From soca to reggae, from dancehall to chutney, but Hip-Hop took over when his family decided to move to Detroit MI in the United-States in the mid 80s and later, Canada in 1997. Janny quickly embrassed this new urban musical revolution that was sweeping Mid West America and at the age of 12 he was in a rap group called LSD based in Lansing MI. His great freestyling ability was what landed him a spot in this group.For the next 4 years he worked on his craft. Freestyling in his room,on the way to school, in ciphers and in his high-school
cafeteria.Living in diffent environments and having being influenced by a variety of
musical genres make Janny Popps a different type of rapper. His
delivery, his wordplays, his swagger, his energy, his stage presence and his
voice give him the edge to seperate himself from the rest of the up and coming emcees.Janny Popps is signed to Qryptonik Records and is currently working on his album. His lyrical influences are Dayton Family, Crime Boss, Eightball and MJG, Too Short, 2pac, Bigge Smalls and Nelly. His style is a direct reflection of the places he has lived throughout his life, which combines his caribbean heritage,Mid-West America and Canada. Janny makes music that people can relate to. TRA AKA THE EMPRESS (Singer/Songwriter/Artist)
Songstress Petra AKA the Empress, whose given name is Petra Grant, was born in the 80s in Leeds, England. From the moment she lined up her teddy bears and sang them old Motown songs at the tender age of 3, it was obvious that music was Petra’s calling and that a superstar was going to emerge. Petra’s love and enthusiasm for music led her to perform in many talent shows, school productions and church. As a child, she spent much of her time writing poetry, which later evolved into a passion for songwriting. When Petra’s family decided to move to Canada in 2003, she decided that this was her chance to really follow her dreams.Petra has been performing in Canada for the past four years and has an extensive musical resume. In the past, she has worked with artists, promoters and producers such as Wonder Productions, Black Arrow Studios, Change Promotions, the Pryminister, Blak child, Rich London, and Daetona, just to name a few. She has even had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Loon and Mobb Deep and featured on many albums and mix tapes. She has performed across Ontario in numerous events and venues such as Café Mirage, Rastafest 2007, Sensual Lounge, DNA Nightclub, Seneca College, York University, the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga and The Jamaican Canadian Centre (JCC). Petra recently signed with Qryptonik Records and is currently working on her debut album.With a style unlike any other, Petra has infused an eclectic sound of hip-hop, reggae and soul with her signature vocals that has allowed her to stand out from the mainstream. Her elegance, polished and innovative style allows her to be noticed as a creative trendsetter. Described as a Lauryn Hill and India Irie meets Lady Saw, her songs are smooth, warm, and speak of love, passion, pain, feminism, sexuality, upliftment and struggle. Being a voice for the voiceless, she has the ability to tell stories with her words, and is not afraid to touch on real issues such as politics, war, society and the current state of the world. The kinds of topics that she finds some artists are fearful of speaking about.Petra’s love for music doesn’t stop there; she has already established herself in the field of Radio broadcasting by being the host and programmer for three radio shows. She currently hosts the shows ‘Breakin Culture’, an arts and entertainment show and ‘Represent’ a UK R ‘n’ B, Garage and Grime show on CHRY 105.5 fm. Also she is a DJ for English Pound Radio, a station reaching out to the English community living outside of the UK. When asked what her goals are for her musical/ radio career, Petra’s only aspiration is that she be given the chance to touch the world with her gift and to shine.=================================================
SHAUNNA MARIE (Singer/Songwriter/Artist)
Born in Toronto (Ontario, Canada),
Shaunna has always been into entertainment.
She first started singing at family gatherings at the tender age of six
She'd follow her mother around the house
parroting back the tunes she heard from the radio
television shows and even commercials.
She was soaking up influences like a sponge.Shaunna's heritage is a mix of races.
She was brought up as a Christian and at 8 years old
she was already in the youth choir at her local church.
During her early years Shaunna grew to embrace many musical genres
listening heavily to mainstream R&B
Hip-hop
Alternative Rock, Reggae
World music and a variety of others.In high school she tried acting
taking part in the various school plays and musicals.
Being on stage in front of an audience never felt this good.
She felt at home.At 14 she started modeling.
The demand for her model physique became so overwhelming
that she had to put acting aside
and just focused on the runways and photo-shoots
but singing always remained her number one dream.
It was at her workplace
that Shaunna met with a friend who later got her an audition with
Qryptonik Records' CEO & Producer, Qing.Qing, impressed with her singing style
"soothing" voice, immediately recruited her.
Shaunna felt like it was a sign;
"It was meant to be".
They started working together on her craft
soon enough, she was in the studio recording materials.Living in Toronto has strongly influenced her artistry
as she incorporates many cross-cultural sounds into her music .
Shaunna's songs have a unique sound.
The emotion she communicates through her voice
and the content of her material makes her stands out.
She's prone to become a star, a diva.This model, actress and singer is about to shake this industry.
