Raised on the NORTH SIDE of the city and being the only child of his single mother, the young star had to grow up faster than the average kid. Instead of hanging out with friends after school, Thumbz Up was hustling in the streets to help pay the rent. So determined to escape the harsh realities of the hood, his love for music began to grow at an early age as he participated in many talent shows and competitions. As a result to winning every local talent show and every freestyle battle, he was instantly crowned with the nickname “Two Thumbs Up.†At the age of sixteen, he had already began recording his first album with an independent record label. The young MC has also been writing, recording, and performing since the age of thirteen!While putting in years of hard work, Thumbz Up has collaborated with a few known artists and producers as well. Recording songs with members of the St. Louis rap group "The Allstars", to writing hit records with tracks by “Country Grammar†producers Basement Beats just to name a couple. The young MC has also opened up for headline hip hop artists such as "Bone Thugs N Harmony" and has been featured on a number of mixtapes that were released in various cities including Atlanta and LA. In 2004, he performed in the Midwest Car Show that was sponsored by a local television station WRBU TV 46 (UPN). With a buzz in a couple cities 2ThumbzUp has continued to remain consistent as he follows in the footsteps of the platinum selling midwest artists before him. With the release of his upcoming mixtape, DERRTY DJ'S PRESENTS: “NEED I SAY MORE,†the future phenom is planning to expand his audience and build his underground fan base in different regions across the country. With an undeniable hunger, a melodic voice and charming charisma, Thumbz Up makes hits for the Billboard charts while satisfying the streets at the same time. As hard work begins to pay off, the MC remains focused on his childhood dream and has not looked back.
