About Me

Untitled ---------------------MUSIC BIO----------------------------------------------- My passion for music began at an early age. I was raised among music and surrounded by a family of musicians. At the age of nine I began playing the violin, which I played and performed for 4 years. After finding "Rock and Roll" I began playing the bass guitar and drums. But all of that changed when I entered high school and discovered my true passion, the six string electric guitar. ------ I began playing feverishly and within a year was playing in my first rock band. I spent my teenage years constantly practicing and playing in various small bands. At the age of sixteen I joined the band Dreadnaught with whom I would spend the next 7 years. ------ Dreadnaught enjoyed a fair amount of success while building a local following in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. Dreadnaught released a CD which was the top selling local CD for several years. We also gigged regularly and in the early 90's headlined locally, as well as, opened for acts such as the band Slaughter. Eventually musical differences sent the members on different paths. At this time I began giving guitar lessons as a way to save and pay for college. I gave instruction to all ages and levels of experience for 2+ years. I found that I loved teaching and it also improved my own playing. ------ I decided to take a hiatus from music for a few years while earning a degree in Computer Engineering. I graduated and worked in the engineering field for 5 years. Approximately 4 years into my engineering career I began playing with several local cover bands and reunited with the former members of Dreadnaught to start the cover band Back 4 More. We played the Salt lake area club scene regularly with continued success. This experience made me realize that I would always be a musician first and foremost in my heart. I decided I couldn't be content unless I was working in music. ------ Upon this realization in 2005, I applied to the Musician's Institute in Hollywood California. I was accepted and rewarded a scholarship for the prestigious guitar program GIT. As soon as I heard this news I sold everything I owned, except for my amp and guitars, and headed for California.------ I began GIT in 2006 and just finished my Associates Degree. At GIT I had the opportunity to study under musicians such as Bill Lafluer,Ken Steiger, Dan Gilbert,Ken Rosser, Jamie Findlay, Ed Finn, and many more great musicians. I have had private instruction from guitarists including the legendary Paul Gilbert (Racer X, Mr. Big), Bill Lafluer, Ken Steiger, Ken Rosser, as well as earlier instruction from James Busby, Rich Dixon, Eric Petersen, and several others. ------ Music has always been my passion and I am now pursuing mydreams of becoming a professional musician relentlessly. Now that I have graduated from MI, I play and sing for the musical comedy act "The Bros. Johnson y Ramone", play lead and rhythm guitar for the guitar project "Modal Intercourse" and am working on my own project "Clint and His Stiff Kitty". ------ Please feel free to contact me with any questions, for advice, or basically anything music related. I am continually looking for opportunities and projects to fulfill my life long dream of becoming a professional musician! I still love to perform but my greatest interests are recording, teaching, sound and effects, and transcribing. My dream is to earn a living doing anything and everything music related.
