I spend most of my time these days engaged in schadenfreude, teethgrinding, voter education and amateur surgery. Needless to say I'm still an avid devotee of ritualistic cannibalism.
John Irving, Chuck D, John Keats, Dr. Phil, wait, real people or famous?

All-time favorites are Jane's Addiction, Tool and The Smiths. Also old rap/hip hop, early punk, some reggae, some metal. Just no jam bands or country. And definitely no Steely Dan.
I find movies to be very long and I don't have a great attention span. However, I did enjoy House of Sand and Fog, Mystic River, This is Spinal Tap, American Movie, Apocolypse Now, Drowning Mona, Last King of Scotland, What About Bob, Rushmore and anything by the Coen brothers- I can recite most of Raising Arizona. My favorite genre is documentaries, recently I've liked Dark Days, Scratch, Word Wars and anything related to gangs.
Lost, House, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, sitcom reruns on Nick at Nite, Family Guy, Top Chef, and reality shows intended for a much younger audience, such as Real World and The Hills.
I like all of John Irving, John Krakauer and most of John Updike. Bill Bryson. Augusten Burroughs stuff is great. I start a lot of non-fiction books and read until my interest wanes (usually halfway through). Also lots of magazines, catalogs, and junkmail (see attention span under Movies above.
Che Guevara, Donna Summer, Farrakhan, Alexander Hamilton. Actually I have no idea, I'll edit this section if I ever think of any heroes.
