Band Members: Dirty fuckin' Dahn, so what?
Influences: First and foremost the originators, the best music band to ever make it: the Beach Boys!!!
Of course also all the 80's shit I listened to when I was young (I'm a 80's baby) like Prince, Madonna, New Kids On The Block, Cindy Lauper, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Whitney Houston, Wham!, Soft Cell, Blondie, Abba, Survivor, A-Ha, Eurythmics, Falco, Diana Ross, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Lionel Richie, Queen, The Clash, U2, Bruce Springsteen, The Police, AC/DC, Guns & Roses, Sabrina, Bobby Brown, Def Leppard and of course the boss of all bosses Michael Jackson!!!
I'm a 80's baby but I still got love for the 70's, 60's, whatever's clever... By the way I love that dude Elvis, I love the Beatles (fuckin' hitmakers), the Rolling Stones (papa was one of'em), Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, all the shit my mom used to listen too...
Of course, I also listen to some hip hop, rap, whatever you wanna call it. I could name all the 'rap classics', but it's just bothering, so I won't say Nas, Wu-Tang, blablabla... In fact I like the bad stuff, the ugly stuff, all the wackest rap shit - yeah, fuck real rap, it's always the same! I prefer Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Tag Team, Down Low, MC Hammer, Kid'N'Play...
I also love Freestyle -not rap- music, it's the only music made in the 90's and 00's that has this strong 80's feeling, daaaamn, I just love it! Major props to artists like lil susy, collage, TKA, expose, Cover Girls, Cynthia, Noel, Sweet Sensation...
Of course Euro-dance, you don't know it yet, but it's coming back really soon: Snap, Haddaway, 2 Unlimited, Culture Beat, Capella, Captain Hollywood, Double U...) 2K pop: Timbaland (he's the fucking baosss right now!!!) Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, Gnarls Barkley, etc...
Old-school rap, even if i'm not a 'hip hop nerd', I still got love for the old dudes who made it back in the days: LL (definitely one of the greatest!), Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, NWA...
Down South: No disrespect to all the new french crunk scene, but when I released Dirty South Connection in 2003, there was really nobody listening to Cash Money, No Limit and all the New Orleans and Baton Rouge acts! So show some respect to the originators in France, aiiight? By the way, @ Wuddup Bitch, we been rocking chains and gold teeth before you even knew what it was... But we ain't haters, and we still got love for all the new cats, and of course most of the grilled and pimped out southern acts (Luda, the whole Cash Money Camp, Lil Weezy, B Gizzle, Juve, T.I., Rick Ross , Poe Boy Ent, Trill Ent, there's so much dudes down there I got love for, it's crazy!!!)
New York rap (yeah, that's right, I listen to some of the NY rappers, not all of'em, but some of'em are cool): Jigga (he's the best, no doubt...), Nas (but just a couple of his tracks, not all the bullshit he released the last three years...) the whole Dipset camp, Fabo (he did a couple of classics, for real!), and of course Diddy (his last album is fucking crazy!)
And at last but not least all the great actors that made music careers like Steven Seagal and David Hasselhoff...
What about movies baby?? All the hottest flicks, from nice old school porn (80's baby, told you!!!) to Jean Claude 'You Genius' Van Damme, John Carpenter (The Thing, New York 1997...), Chuck Norris, Stevan Seagal, Alexandre Aja, John Woo, Tsui Hark, Quentin Tarantino, Danny Boyle, of course the Dirty f***** Dahn Show!!!!
Yeaaaaah, almost forgot the most important: books & mags! Love that dude Douglas Kennedy (ain't a joke boy), lots of people like Truman Capote, John Irving, but that ain't even funny... So just cop the following mags and keep it straight: Rap US, Groove, and whatever you want playaaaaa!
Sounds Like: no one else...
