When life serves you lemons, choke out the people you hate with them. And then I guess make lemonade

About Me

For those of you who don't know me or want to know more about me, I've been involved in Alternative culture for quite some time now. I have written articles/ done interviews for many alternative magazines over the years, and served as Editor In Chief/Creative Director for several New York based style and culture magazines. I started/owned/and created Blur Magazine here in Los Angeles with friends and cohorts from New York, and have had the really fun and lucky opportunity to interview some very interesting people from the odder side of life.
Most recently I created a few really fun nightlife events here in Los Angeles including Miss Kitty's Diskotek and Cabaret, Deluxe Megaclub, the Flesh Factory and Disco 69 to name a few. My partner Christos and I formed a fun nightlife production company/performance art troupe called Starfactory Productions, and we are dedicated to producing really entertainment heavy, shocking, artistic yet unpretentious and fun parties for a long time to come.
Now in it's sixth year, we have celebrated by relaunching our event production company (now named The Boulét Brothers) and renaming, formatting and re-styling our main event from the weekly Miss Kitty's "Discotek and Cabaret" to the all new monthly extravaganza "Miss Kitty's World of Wonders".
Whatever aspect of the culture I'm involved in, my goal is to always celebrate and create (in my opinion) the better side of art, style, music & fashion, and get it the exposure it deserves. I feel that most mainstream American culture is over hyped trash that gets too much attention, and it is my goal to create and/or present quality alternatives to the masses. Whether it is by interviewing or promoting a talented new signer or comedienne at one of our events, creating a mind blowing nightlife event or writing an article about a new underground artist or movie, it's what I love to do, and will continue to do in one form or another for the duration.
Lastly, to clear up the confusion for all the conflicting people I met over the years, yes: the bloody club kid-esque freak you saw on stage is in fact the same guy you met at a fashion shoot once, or you met at a club in New York five years ago, or used to run that magazine, or the guy who is quiet and grew up in the south, or looks like a trashy tattooed farmer: it is all the same person; me. (ta-dah!). Jame Boulét is the name in which I operate my nightlife events under.
