Represented by the Midwest’s largest entertainment attorneys and releasing her album KuKu on iTunes, Ashley is looking forward to what this year will bring.
Ashley was born thinking out of the box. Growing up in New Lenox, IL, being different was definitely not embraced. "Try being the unique girl in a small town who likes wearing wigs and hot pink pants!" She laughs. Looks of disapproval were not enough to keep Ashley from being herself. Nothing seems to be able to dampen her spirit.
Excited over the simple things in life, Ashley brings energy of pure enthusiasm everywhere she goes. Walking into her room is like stepping into a fantasy of whimsical organized clutter. "I've never understood how people can choose one color scheme. I think best in a colorful environment!†She smiles. Standing at only 5’2â€, Ashley’s personality is larger than life.
At fourteen Ashley stepped into her first recording studio. Her first vocals were pumping through the speakers and pumping into her heart. “At fourteen, I remember being in shock because I knew that this was it. I was hooked. It was that adrenaline rush that no first kiss was going to match." She chuckles. From then on music bumped boys into second place. Close your eyes and walk a couple thousand miles to auditions, broadway shows, and roller coaster emotions. This will flash us forward to Ashley at 15. Ashley had a crush on a boy and wrote a song about him called "gotta getchya". Ironically, this song began playing on 100.7 The Bus radio station and made it to the number one slot for several weeks in a row! Just as Ashley had planned, her crush became her backup dancer. She was soon headlining a show for 100.7 The Bus, singing her own songs that she had co-written with Jamie Principle, one of the creators of house music.
Missing high school parties and spending most of the nights and weekends writing, recording, and practicing has never been a hardship for Ashley because that’s all she ever wanted to do. A straight “A†student by day and pursuing a rock star life at night is a grueling schedule, but somehow she managed to remain on high honors through all of the commotion and excitement.
With the help of Jamie Principle, Ashley was able to learn the craft of songwriting and recording. With the money she earned through her music, she was able to purchase a modest home studio where she wrote and recorded the melodies and lyrics for her next album “KuKuâ€.
Luck mixed with HARD WORK, Ashley was brought to Radio Disney. Her career was about to be bumped to the next level. Opening for major acts like Charlie Colin of TRAIN, Dizzy of GUNS N ROSES, Aaron Carter, Teddy Geiger, and Ashley Parker Angel, coupled with the chance to encourage kids to pursue their dreams, Ashley found her niche. “I realized that the shows weren’t for me, but for the fans to have fun. It’s a great feeling!â€
“God is my driver. With vision and a ton of faith, I know I will reach my dreams. I've never had a back-up plan. I was never going to do anything else."
