About Me

ABOUT ME:
It's a very long and complicated story... but here's a glimpse:

My friends say... I'm an active but easygoing guy with a great sense of humor. I love cats, now, possibly more than humans (see... I guess they were right). I really appreciate a thought provoking conversation, and love the social scene. Happy Hour with friends, appetizers and drinks is my ideal way of winding down from the workday!
I love meeting new people, making new friends and acquaintances... there is nothing that broadens your horizons more than surrounding yourself with and having engaging discussions with a number of intelligent, interesting, good natured people!
I love my job and believe it's a part of my life so I need to enjoy it or else I wouldn't do it, but I also have lines drawn between my personal and professional life so I can have the time to enjoy my life and not fall into the trap of working a round the clock.
I love to travel... I've been to 37 of the 50 states in the US and Mexico and plan on traveling abroad in the future (Europe this Fall). I guess wanderlust is in my blood now. I love the midwest and the people who reside here... I've lived in Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Kansas and for right now I call Missouri home and I love Kansas City and all it has to offer.
I'm healthy, but I have no guilt about the less than perfect things I do to myself. I'll do things just for the experience of doing it, good, bad or ugly. I'm clumsy and have excellent reflexes at the same time. I'm learning to be less hard on things, my car, my clothes, my body... as far as I'm concerned, everything falls into the survival of the fittest category. I do my best to live life to the fullest in every aspect. No regrets ever.
The people I chose to spend my time with have: a wonderful sense of humor; an appreciation for the outdoors; a love of family and friends; a wide variety of tastes from books, movies, music and art; open minds and open hearts. If you love life, love to laugh and fun seems to follow you around, we already have something in common.
I'll let you know about the rest of the story when I'm done with it.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

FAVORITE QUOTES:

"Are you serious?" - Just about everyone I know

"So I was sitting there... eating a taco... thinking of you..." - The Bruceâ„¢

"Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." - Quintus Horatius Flaccus

"When I was a little girl they told me I was a sinner. It gave me something to live up to." - Amee Budd

"If you're going to do something tonight that you'll be sorry for tomorrow morning, sleep late." - Henny Youngman

"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench. A long plastic hallway where theives and pimps run free and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." - Hunter S. Thompson

"I don't want to achieve immortality through my work... I want to achieve it through not dying." - Woody Allen

"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being." - Johann Wolfgang Goethe

"We seem to gain wisdom more readily through our failures than through our successes. We always think of failure as the antithesis of success, but it isn't. Success often lies just the other side of failure." - Leo F. Buscaglia

"For every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful." - The Law of Karma (Buddhist teachings)

"I think men who have a pierced ear are better prepared for marriage. They've experienced pain and bought jewelry." - Rita Rudner

"I think I mentioned to Bob [Geldof] I could make love for eight hours. What I didn't say was that this included four hours of begging and then dinner and a movie." - Sting

"America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable." - Hunter S. Thompson

"...I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days..." - Crash Davis, Bull Durham

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -President Theodore Roosevelt

"Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't." - Erica Jong

"To see what is in front of one's nose is a constant struggle." - George Orwell

"Tous les jours à tous points de vue je vais de mieux en mieux." - Émile Coué

"True love never dies... you have to keep shooting it!" - Anonymous

"To be is to do." - Descartes

"To do is to be." - Jean-Paul Sartre

"Doo bee doo bee doo." - Frank Sinatra

"Assumptions are the termites of realtionships." - Henry Winkler

"You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star." - Friedrich Nietzsche

"Live with intention, walk to the edge, listen hard, laugh, practice wellness, play with abandon, continue to learn, appreciate your friends, choose with no regret, do what you love... live as if this is all there is." - Mary Anne Radmacher

"I could've wound up having sex back there. And what better way to exorcise rejection demons than to screw the person who rejected you, right? But you wouldn't be sleeping with a person, you'd be sleeping with the whole sad, single-person culture. It'd be like sleeping with Talia Shire in Rocky if you weren't Rocky." - Rob Gordon from High Fidelity

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandella
"Believe me! The secret of reaping the greatest fruitfulness and the greatest enjoyment from life is to live dangerously!" - Friedrich Nietzsche

"You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes." - Winnie the Pooh

"To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to give of one's self, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - that is to have succeeded." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee." - Jules Winnfield, Pulp Fiction (Ezekiel 25:17)

"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity." - Albert Einstein

"I see you're drinking 1%. Is that 'cause you think you're fat? 'Cause you're not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to." - Napoleon Dynamite

"The word politics is derived from the word poly, meaning many, and the word ticks, meaning blood sucking parasites." - Larry Hardiman

"Forgive, forget. Bear with the faults of others as you would have them bear with yours. Be patient and understanding. Life is too short to be vengeful or malicious." - Philip Brooks

"Honey, if it starts with cake and champagne it should end with cake and champagne!" - Christian on Divorce
