I had the greatest at bat in New York Mets history on October 25, 1986. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, the Red Sox were on the verge of their first World Series Championship since 1918. It was a 10 pitch plate appearance. On the 7th pitch, Bob Stanley threw one in the dirt, allowing Kevin Mitchell to score and tie the game. With Ray Knight now on 2nd base, I fouled off 2 more pitches. Then, I hit a slow roller to 1st base which went between Bill Buckner's legs, plating Knight for the win. The Mets went on to win the 1986 World Series.
