BIOGRAPHYJohn Bluford, (an R&B / Hip-Hop / Songwriter / Pop male solo recording artist) professionally
known as “John Blu†started singing at an early age in church.In high school, Blu played keyboard and percussions in an extremely talented teen-jazz band.
During this time he also performed in local talent shows, community centers, park district field
houses, and other events. Along with his vocal talents, musical talents and experience, John Blu is
gifted with the ability to write, compose and produce his own music. He can literally put
together a song from “start to finish,†all in one recording session. John Blu produces his own music
and has his own music publishing company (“J-Blu†Music).John Blu has been very busy these past few years, writing, producing, recording, performing and
developing his “stage act.†He has performed in high schools, colleges, clubs, theaters, and
outdoor festivals all over the Midwest, and has also performed with some of the top artists in the
industry.In 2001, John Blu released his CD “Reverse Psychology,†which experienced substantial sales, in the
Chicago area.In 2004, John Blu released his first independent CD “Undiscovered†along with his music video
“Applauseâ€. This project was the driving force in helping his dream become a reality.In 2005, Blu's first tour as an opening act was on the Laff Comedy Jam Spring college explosion; with various
comedians including Deon Cole, Sonya D, Mista Mcgriff.In 2006, John Blu Co-founded Singles R' Us productions (SRU). SRU is a company where local artists come together
to network, create, and perfect their craft. He has collaborated with many
artists throughout Chicago (producing, arranging, writing, and singing on multiple songs).In 2007, John Blu continued to polish his craft on and off the stage while pinning the name ‘The
Collabo King’ and since then he has shared his vocals, beats, and production skills with many
more artists throughout the Midwest. He is currently promoting his Hip Hop
collaboration single ‘Flyboy’, along with the video. It was also featured on the ‘Power Hour’,
Power 92.3 FM radio.John Blu is the next great producer, songwriter, singer to come out of the streets of Chicago. The
journey has begun and will continue for years to come.
