Evanescence, means disapearing like vapor. But with this bands success, their not going anywhere for a long time.
Three years ago. Fallen, Evanescence's mainstream debut album rose to the top of the charts, and sold a mindblowing twelve million copies worldwide.
With Amy Lee's amazing voice, tied with her classic piano training, and heavy guitars, creates Evanescence's unique and amazing sound.
Evanescence was started just when Amy was a teen. Lee and guitarist Ben Moody wrote music together and formed the band. They self releasedtheir original album, Origin in 2000. Eventually they caught the attention on Wind-Up records and expiriened massive succcess. Unfotunatly Moody left the band due to many reasons, including artistic differences with Lee. He was replaced by their current guitarist Terry Blasmo.
After the success of Fallen, Evanescence began working on their second album. "I didn't give myself a time limit." Amy claims. Though the album took a while to write, it was well worth waiting for. The Open door is already steaming with success, and has two hit singles, Call Me When Your Sober and Lithium.
