About Me

Grub Dog and the Modestos is my main musical project since leaving Sacramento and moving to Austin www/myspace.com/grubdogmitchell. This is a much more specifically "Roots Rock" project than the Sweethearts were although there will still be elements of noise and strangeness involved. Think of Tom Waits' The Black Rider mixed with The Flying Burrito Brothers and that's where I hope things go.

I still do occassional shows with the Amazing Sweethearts and I am putting together a new band called heartsexplode www.myspace.com/heartsexplode that will be as (punk) Rock as the Sweethewarts were and I am also playing drums for James Rider and the 420 Turnaround, the Yarmigos, Bryce Clifford, Neil Kassanoff and Underwood. I am a busy guy and I like it that way

Put another dime in the jukebox baby

I love Rock and Roll. I mean, as I sit here, I'm burning my entire CD collection ABBA to Zebra (OK so I don't own CD's of either, but I have the cassettes!) to mp3's while watching Bruce Springsteen'...
