About Me

If you're putting on a show or looking for another band to join a lineup, send us a message. What's in a name? Well, not a lot really! One of us wanted "Puritan", another wanted "Slain". We stuck them together. There's no religious undertone, no hidden meaning - we're one hundred percent all about the metal.
Hailing from the Isle of Wight, Puritan Slain are the result of both lifelong friendships and new blood and are influenced by some of the world's heaviest metal bands. Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, In Flames and Trivium would feature heavily in the band's influence lists, but our sound is most definitely our own.
James on lead guitars would have it known that he is not completely obsessed with Metallica, merely that he enjoys them more than most. Gavin on bass knew he was going to make it big when his son absolutely insisted on listening to our scratch demos on a particularly long car journey. Gareth on rhythm guitars denies an addiction to European metal, and insists he's just looking for a band heavy enough to crush his soul. "Spud" on drums drowns the rest of us out with his particularly heavy style of drumming, but we forgive him for that!
We hope you enjoy rocking out to our particular take on metal, which for the most part defies classification. At least to us, anyway.

Recording, Day Two

Good start this morning, we've already got the Fake It drums laid down as I type, which is a miracle as Spud has the hangover from hell. Neverthleless, he's soldiering on and we're about to head into ...

EP + Hiatus

We're finally going to hit some kind of studio...  When we say studio we mean a big room with a mixing desk, a bunch of mics, a PC with Cubase on it and four idiots with no clue blindly stab...

Recent Gig - The Cellar Bar, Ryde, Isle of Wight

Our latest gig at the Cellar Bar in Ryde, Isle of Wight was probably our best effort yet.  The event was nearly over before it began as the main PA decided to die with half an hour before the doo...
