About Me

My Interests

Check out my blog. Tenement Gourmet!
Travel, girlie stuff, cooking and eating food, especially bread baking (all from scratch and by hand - machines are for wussies!), studying japanese, playing basketball, which I am crap at, scrabble, working out, hostessing (in the sky AND on the ground), good hotel soap, the perfect cup of coffee, my bike, learning new stuff, tattoos, lots, lots more.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever thought of the Passive Aggressive Notes website , because I'm totally jealous that he/she/they did it first. And Dick Craig, because it's Not Just Rock N Roll.

Music:

Old funk and soul music, silly nostalgic 90s indie rock, beep-boop electronic messes...I'm all over the place. This week, it's been a weird mix of Sloan and Chromeo. Slomeo.

Movies:

Xanadu (thanks to Paula, I've caught the wave!), 28 Days/Weeks/Months/Minutes Later, The Room, TV shows on DVD. They aren't movies, but I watch them marathon-style, so that counts. Japanese horror movies, esp. Ringu. Samurai and kung fu movies (in moderation). Documentaries. Other things too. Not much of a movie fan, generally. I tend to see movies about five years after they came out, at least.

Television:

24, Project Runway, when that comes back, Intervention (sometimes), Iron Chef (sometimes)...um, that's it.

Books:

generally I read non-fiction. Ruth Reichl, David Sedaris, Best American Non-Required Reading series - whatever looks interesting. Weird NJ (and NJ ONLY). Optic Nerve. Found. Books on investing (I can't believe it, either!). Nerdy science books.

megadeth member/garage sale attendee

Seriously, this is the best goodbye to LA we could have had. A member of Megadeth came to our garage sale. A founding member, even. I wish I could say it was Dave Mustaine, but it was not. His name wa...
