The term 'Freakshow Disco' was initially coined to describe a warped style of club based music placing no stylistic restrictions upon itself. Effectively a genre that isn..t a genre, Freakshow Disco has since become the moniker by which all of T-Rek..s music related projects are covered by. Although digital formats of recorded music have become increasingly popular in recent times, vinyl has still remained a constant source of material for DJ's, and it was with this in mind that T-Rek began pressing and distributing his own vinyl in late 2005. Since then he has pressed and distributed over 10 vinyl releases under numerous project headings and titles. 'Freakshow Disco Volume 1 (The Round-Up)' is T-Rek's second full length album, and was released September 2nd in Australia thru Freakshow Disco Productions/Rubber Records/EMI. In contrast to his previous album, this release is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, and is a collection of T-Rek tracks, remixes, and collaborations produced in various locations over the past two years. Seamlessly blended and mixed together in DJ fashion, the album is a leftfield jaunt through many styles of electronic disco, with splashes of rock and hip-hop, all the while maintaining it's solid beat underlay bound together by T-Rek's unique style of drumcentric production. The album features T-Rek/Freakshow Disco remixes of Aphletik, So Phatt!, Shiela E, Chris Lum, and Something for Kate, as well as collaborations with Audio Fabio and Agent 86 and Bon Dosco. T-Rek also has produced remixes for a diverse range of artists including Something for Kate, Snoop Dogg, Coolio, Chris Lum and TV Rock amongst others. For live or DJ bookings contact: [email protected] www.freakshowdisco.com (Under Construction) www.myspace.com/freakshowdiscoFreakshow Disco Productions is a division of Rubber Records, and is distributed in Australia by EMI (CD releases), and Stomp (Vinyl releases).
