Juan was not just your run of the mill kin. He was my best bud. My confidant. My bodyguard. My shoulder. My advisor. My teacher. My guide. My homie. We had the longest talks (even if it was just me talking), the biggest laughs. He gave the best hugs. The best bear hugs. I turned to him when i was up, down, and even sideways. He never made feel ashamed, but always proud. Proud of him, proud of myself, And especially proud of the relationship we shared. Lord only knows what I'd give to feel one more hug from him. Its weird to think that when i call the house i won't ask my mom "Y Juanchito?" And its hard to think that when i go there i won't run into his bedroom and scream (lovingly) "Hey Fatass!!". But what was hardest to think is that you won't turn to me and flash that ever contagious smile.
Then the strangest thing occured to me as i looked into the many many faces of all the people you've touched. I can see you in all those smiling faces of friends turned family. And i realized you're not that far away.
