About Me

A good manager should understand every aspect of the music industry - it is very complex and the competition is fierce. At SWAP, we work with our artists to help them build and navigate their careers, taking an active role in their music, marketing, and image. We strive to create a full package for our artists that will take advantage of the current trends, while at the same time establishing longevity that will not be affected by passing fads. With SWAP, our artists get the individual treatment of a small company that cares about its clients, while having access to the collective experience and contacts of a large agency. We understand the business of music, and use that understanding to create exciting and unique opportunities for our clients.

Anel Pla (President, CEO), at only 27 years of age, is already considered a veteran in the entertainment industry. Anel got her start at 15, working directly for such music moguls as Andre Harrell, Sean "Puffy" Combs, and Sony Music legend Tommy Mottola. She also worked for Source Magazine as a music consultant before venturing out on her own to start SWAP Management in 2004. In addition to her career in music, Anel is also Executive Producer of the movie Mix Tape, Inc.

Nick Vlachos, CPA (CFO) is the definition of entrepreneur. In addition to his own highly successful accounting practice (Vlachos & Vlachos, LLP), Nick is also part owner of several successful business ventures, including Clarendon, the clothing company favored by celebrities and socialites, alike. Nick is also the Executive Producer of Rapsheet , the movie. SWAP's current roster includes such artists as former Cash Money and Hot Boys superstar BG (aka B Gizzle), Chopper City Boys, R&B legend Ginuwine, singer/songwriter Sean Austin, super producers Junius Bervine and Clay Sears (Pharrel, Jill Scott, Common, Lauryn Hill), and veteran platinum producer Jah Snowcone (Sean Paul). SWAP also manages experienced stylist Sandra Benbaruk, whose work has graced the pages of Muteen, Elle, Vibe, DS, Entertainment Weekly, and the New York Times, just to name a few.
