About Me

For music see my other profile: www.myspace.com/ernestdrake
Ernest Drake always had a lot of different musical influences and played in several bands, until through the influence of early jungle beats, he sat down at home to blast some drumcomputer sounds through guitar-effects and cut his first tape-loops.
Ernest Drake pays tribute to the fact that he didn't invent the egg but pretty well knows how to throw some around. Sound wise his inspirations range from early industrial culture to underground-hip-hop, noise/breakbeat to french house, early US-Hardcore to Dub.
Where some of the “dancefloor-punk”-acts haven't got that much in common with the origins of punk and lose themselves in ranting on about dancing and sex, Drake still gets his portion of anger from looking 'round a bit more (...he's got nothing against good sex and dancing by the way).
Like his song “Revenge fantasies of the underclass” is the payback to all the companies bosses and their daily harassment to our lives, “Kampf dem Terrorismus” has been put together while politicians began their newest witch-hunt on what they call terrorism.
“Nothing”, a cover-version of an 80s US-Hardcorepunk- classic by Negative Approach, is a perfect example for Ernest Drakes idea of music – anger and groove tied together in a smart package. Yesterdays roots, future sound.
As is written on his first demotape: all distortion by intention - the compatibility with discotheques is there, but it is not overall. Nowadays Gucci-Punks will be sent back to their mommies...
