Hey! We hope you are diggin our tunes :) This page is run 100% by the band. Feel free to message us or comment us whenever. We get a lot of messages and comments, so it's difficult to answer every single one of them, so don't get mad at us if we weren't able to answer yours. We have a FAQ below that answers the questions we most commonly get asked, so check that out first before messaging. We really appreciate the support and would love to meet every single one of you, so if you see us at a show, don't hesitate to say hi and feel free to IM us whenever (our SNs are next to our names)! Our debut EP is now available via our Myspace store- pick it up today!
Q: Where/how can I pick up some sweet Maylen merch and The Awakening EP?!
A: You can now purchase our EP off of Apple's iTunes. It's fast and probably the cheapest way to get your hands (or ears) on the music (I believe it's like $5.94 for the entire record). You can also grab it from our myspace store by using a credit card. You can also get some tshirts from our myspace online store as well. We use Paypal; so it's safe, secure, easy and quick! For those of you that still don't feel comfortable buying it over the net, you can use our mail order system and mail us your payment directly. Usually it will only take up to 10 days for us to get the merch back to you, but if we are in the middle of a re-order because we're out of merch, it can take a few weeks since we're waiting on the merch ourselves.
Q: How can I book Maylen for my show/party?
A: Two things: shoot us a myspace message with the info for your event and/or email Neal directly at
[email protected]. We get tons of myspace messages, so sometimes booking inquieries get lost in the shuffle. It's best to talk to Neal directly and work it out from there.
Q: Are you guys signed?!
A: NO! We are not signed. We're DIY to the bone! We do all our booking, designing, merchandising, financing, promotion, everything. Do we want to get signed? Sure... if the right situation presents itself. Until then, we love doing everything ourselves. For all A&R contact, please email Neal at
[email protected].
Q: When is the next Maylen show? When are you guys coming to ________?
A: All confirmed dates are in our shows section. We generally post blogs or news updates regarding tours and post all dates together for whole tours. Keep checking back because dates are added almost daily!

Melodic rock with catchy choruses, thoughtful lyrics, and soothing harmonies seems to be the best description for this east coast quartette. Maylen, pronounced "May-len", is from the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, which has recently been a cornucopia of new talent. Surviving in an area with just about every band you've heard of is good is no walk in the park and the only way to do it is to be yourself and work hard.
Maylen was formed in May of 2006 and immediately started writing and pre-production for their debut EP. While in the writing process, Maylen performed select local shows as well as the 2006 Vans Warped Tour. Writing for this record included a lot of re-writing, demoing, and re-demoing until the process spawned perfection. Entering the studio in October of 2006 for the first time with up and coming producer Paul Leavitt (Senses Fail, Dashboard Confessional, Darkest Hour, All Time Low, etc.), Maylen was in great hands to put out a record that any rock/alternative/pop/punk fan could enjoy whether they are 15 or 50.
"The Awakening" is a record that touches on subjects that everybody goes through sometime in life. From love to loss, hope to bitterness, and death to yearning to live, it is a record everybody can and should be able to relate to whether they admit it or not.
What people are saying about "The Awakening EP"
-AbsolutePunk.net-
"The Awakening EP is everything kids seem to be craving these days. Ambient riffs, smooth vocal harmonies and just the right amount of cheese make Maylen primed for teenage stardom. “Killing The Flame†is perfect for college radio with handclaps and Andrew Thomas’ angsty vocals, while “Angels (Time To Breath)†could be the last dance at Prom both indie and “normal†kids enjoy together. This is easily accessible music without that guilty feeling. In that case, I'll take two scoops."
-FortheSound.com-
"The Awakening is aptly titled for an album composed entirely of hopefulness and an ‘everything is alright’ attitude and while Maylen has compiled an inspiring and motivational 6-track EP The Awakening is simplistic, yet full of messages that urge you to listen more closely for their deeper meaning."
-4.25 out of 5- Scene Trash Magazine-
"Overall, "The Awakening" is a solid EP, lyrics are simple, but in a good way, and you won't be disappointed if you buy it... you'll definately hear all the potential from the beginning."
-Towson Tower Light Newspaper-
"Catchy lyrics and an addicting sound has helped Maylen quickly prove their spot among bands of the same genre. More original than most, the EP contains 6 of the most infectious songs I've heard in awhile."
