About Me
I hardly know where to begin. I know a few basic things. God is good and faithful. He started a work in me and despite my best attempts to outrun him and hide from him, he brought me fully back to him. I have been a Christian as long as I can remember, but truly I only walked with God on occasion. This year (2008) God brought me to my knees. Getting brought to my knees was not some glorious wonderful experience. It is and was highly painful. I have lost much as a result of my own free will to mess up my own life. I wished I had submitted and surrendered sooner, before I hit my bottom. On Sunday July 6th, 2008 I surrendered every part of my life to God. I did not leave one stone unturned, not one thing unseen, my whole mind body and spirit I gave to Him. I just reached a point of giving up. I could no longer carry the load anymore. Though I still suffer the consequences of my actions, His Grace is evident in my life every Day! I am richly blessed and am changed, renewed in spirit by Grace.
I have battled many things, Addiction, Depression, and plain old circumstances. I learned that we are not alone and no matter what our pain, no matter what our problems are, and no matter how bad we feel, we are not alone. There is a Solution. God is there, he is calling you and his Grace is available to each and every one of us, through Jesus. "If you were in a burning building and someone opened up the door would you lay silent on the floor?" (Lyric by John Marr). I have been in that burning building without even knowing there was a fire. Later in life I saw the fire but was unwilling to run out the door. That very door God had provided. Instead I stayed, I got burned, and now I am being healed by Jesus. The scares are there but Fortunately Jesus already paid the price for me and for you. The outcome of the race is already determined, and for those in Christ..well "We Win". I still have a race to run, despite the obstacles and the things I allow in the way, my eyes are fixed on Jesus. If I look back I will fall behind. If I carry the baggage of my past life, I will fall behind. Guilt is non productive, If we have confessed our sins, we are forgiven. As far as the east is from the west so are my sins cast away from me. Forgiveness from God is complete through Christ, whom paid it all.
Music, well its a blessing. Like most gifts from God they can be a curse or blessing depending on we use them. There was a time not so long ago when Music was what carried me through my darkest hours. Today it still is used by God to bless me in amazing ways. Lately I have been listening to a CD by a good friend of mine, John Marr. Its the "Hail Of Arrows" CD. you can download it for free at bereanrecords.com. As far as my music goes, its therapy. Therapy for me. If you get some joy out of it then all the better.
These days I spend time with like minded people. I read my Bible for real. I listen to sermons over and over, and I blog about the things I am learning. I barely touch the TV (just occasional news). I play the guitar alot, and worship alot. I have a peace in me that comes from complete surrender. It is a peace that I wish I could bottle up and send to everyone of you. The truth is that you must find this Peace for yourself. I have a hint for you. Look to the things above. Focus on God, and give him everything, every part of your life! Read the Bible! It is our little owners manual and hang out with other believers.
