Message from the President of the foundation: I am Sharif Liwaru, President of this foundation, I have something serious for you. I am the new President of the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation located here in Omaha. We are at square two.You see, in past years much has been done to maintain what we have, with some promising improvements. We own 10 acres of land in the heart of the Black community including the homesite of Malcolm X who was born here in Omaha. We need to take this organization to National and International status. I can't do it with just the people I have on board now. I need young professionals. I joined the organization at the age of 17, so don't think you don't have the age or experience to get on board. I need folks with common sense and people who are 'bout it. Who will work. And can continue to do so while they wait for the fruits of their labor to come.We need at least 100 of you to join us. Our goal is two fold. One, to create a park like memorial at his birth home as a tourist and educational attraction. Two, to offer programs and services that our community needs to assist them in becomming homeowners, and business owners and financially secure. Our people need this. Our kids need this as their future.I can't convince those who don't care, but the ones who think this will take too much time, I need you to understand that every minute you give to the future of our people, will be rewarded.We need you.
